CranberryWX
Dew point really took a drop after 4pm as much drier air moved in. It made a very pleasant late afternoon and evening...rather cool actually with humidity down to 40%. Low is forecast into the upper 40s tomorrow morning. CranberryWX
Got down to 51 this morning...feels good. Some nearby stations are in the upper 40s. This week will have a near record low and then a near record high within a few days of each other.

CranberryWX
A cool 49 at my station this morning. The record low is 49, but CRW is at 51. I'm enjoying this morning with my cup of coffee on the deck before the heat arrives.

The only weather that overperforms here is the heat. Will be praying for a 60 temp by the time this month of hell (July) is over.

CranberryWX
Forecast high is around 100 today while starting in the mid 50s this morning. That's quite a daily spread. Also, it's unusual to see a wild fire statement in June during the growing season...I don't recall ever seeing one during the growing season around here...indicative of the dry soil conditions and dry air with this heat. snowfan
According to LWX, my forecast highs today - July 4th are: 94, 98, 95, 100, 99, 96 and 99. Toasty.
PrinceFrederickWx
A +1 departure for June qualifies as a torch? Well first of all, a +1 departure is not near-normal, that's above average. At least one record high was tied this month already. Taken out of context, I'd agree its not an all-out torch; however, coming after 16 straight months of above average temperatures, the 7th hottest winter and the hottest spring on record, yes, in my opinion, it qualifies as part of a larger torch pattern that's (mostly) been in play for the last 2.5 years. The repeated calls for the "pattern change" this year by everyone has not panned out, and I kept saying all year that they wouldn't, not at least until the spring and summer was over. Anyways that's my whole spiel, it seems to irritate everyone on here and tbh even I'm tired of writing about it, so I'll just shutup. That is all. I think the point here is that you said that your spring/summer torch forecast was right. First of all, +1 is in fact not a torch. It's above normal but nothing super out of the ordinary. Second, the summer is not over...a little early to be breaking out the champagne and celebrating eh? You didn't say in your congratulations post that you meant the pattern over the last 2.5 years was torchy - you simply congratulated yourself on a well done torch forecast for just the spring/summer period...which is not over. People are just irritated that you seem to be all excited over a forecast that has not yet verified.
