Ian
I think most will remember this month has hot so missing by a bit not a big deal. Had we not gotten those "abnormal" cold shots would have been right on the money. It's never cool here anymore.
EastCoast NPZ
Any guesses for July's departures? FWIW, Accuweather shows below normal temps after the next week and a half. Of course, they also show a 5-day stretch of clouds and rain, and when has that ever happened, much less in July? Pretty sure if you kept track you'd always find them with below-normal temps after the 10-day stretch. Based on nothing more than recent history, and Murphy's Law, I'd wager +3.5F at IAD for July. Does anyone else find it incredibly ironic that the blocking we so desperately needed this winter - but didn't get - now arrives just in time to give us the exact opposite effect during the hottest part of the year? Well, that didn't last long. Accuweather's afternoon forecast now has 90s for the next 15 days straight. Good grief.
Deck Pic
July should be pretty easy to beat the record, no? looks like average about 82.7 the rest of the way?...shouldn't be too hard with DCA being unable to drop below 73-75 at night
MN Transplant
Last July was 84.5. 84.5 * 2 * 31 = 5239 Sitting at 2914 through yesterday (17 days). Need to average 83.0 the rest of the month including today. About a +3. But we are looking at some negatives this weekend.
