Buckeye05
I see two separate tornadoes in that video.
HurricaneJosh
Pretty cool.
Mallow
Wow. There's the tornado in the foreground, but there also seems to be a tornado that repeatedly touches down and then lifts up in the same area way in the background, on the right of the screen. That one's probably partially terrain-induced.
HurricaneJosh
It's pretty cute. I wonder what the intensity was. Maybe EF000?
HurricaneJosh
Sorry-- just punishing Jorge for his chronic Mexican-hurricane snobbery/superiority complex.
Thunder Road
Among the effects caused by the wind and rain are 102 fallen trees and 8 spectacular. "With winds up to 65 kilometers per hour, higher than the most intense in the Valley of Mexico, 45 miles per hour, the tornado was because of the heat accumulated in recent days and the sudden entry of moisture from the coastal" said the specialist Raul Rivera. Spectacular!

jbcmh81
What a way to start the rainy season. Been an interesting year in Mexico City, from the Popo eruption to earthquakes and now this. They're behind on zombie attacks, though.
Mike.Ventrice
It's interesting how after the gust front? goes through, you see a line of break lights from all the stopped cars. I wonder if some debris blocked the road there... Interesting video!

jbcmh81
Not really. Ha, I was there for that. I walked all the way from Centro to the Plaze de la Revolucion and encountered this the whole way.
Witness Protection Program
It's pretty cute. I wonder what the intensity was. Maybe EF000? They use the metric system down there, so I dunno, maybe an EF Hutton?
jbcmh81
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWT4mpVKJeU&feature=share Another couple videos. It definitely seems like there were a couple different tornadoes. The first video is from down on the street. You see see trees blow down, and later cars flipped over. Some of this, especially the last video, may be more of a gust front, but the first video is not. wxmeddler
Looks like from the tower cam it was one gustnado (video 2 and 3)and one real tornado (the 1st video).
HurricaneJosh
Here's another interesting one-- from on the ground, in the central city square, near or very close to where the funnel passed. Because it was relatively weak and moved through a densely-populated area, there are lots of cool little videos of this event:
