Scott, you were wondering if the roof top might get some snow out of this ... well -

I wish I had the free time to get down to the shores. Provided it is done so from a safe distance, that sounds like a good show at high tides.

Yeah, goes to show you can't have icing during the day at this time of year ...

June 2009 was cold and wet here... I thought 2010 was pretty warm (+2.7) with average rain (+0.1")

Was it different for you in Maine?

It was above normal precip wise for us here for the month, I think it was 2010 when we had back to back months of 12" and 13" rainfall totals for June and July, Looking back it was 2009 we had a real wet June and July, June 2010 was also wet

i would happily trade that wx for my current wx. I dont care what month of the year it might be.

Pretty nasty out here... gusts to maybe 30 recently and sheets of rain... trees swaying

mount wash 28 and light snow....they should be getting pounded with that stuff moving in...no? i'ld like to hike up there tommorrrow or wednesday

"A bit of a winter weather snap somewhat suprisingly embraced the higher summits overnight, and looks to continue through the day thanks to a chilly east flow. Precipitation will fall in the form of snow and sleet, possibly mixing with rain at times during the afternoon. With up to 1/2" of liquid forecasted by computer models, light accumulations can be expected, generally in the 2-4" range. "

http://www.mountwash...ther/summit.php would be one of boston's biggest storm's this year ha ha

Two years ago around this date at 6500' in Austria... I stood in snow (albeit old stuff) and made a snowball. Always a thrilling thing to do in June. :)

Temp up to 51.8F here, 52F at AFN. As I surmised, holding in the 40s is hard during midday in June.

You must downslope a bit. ORH still 48.

But then again, it is raining at ORH. Still 51.8 with only intermittent sprinkles or showers is extremely chilly.

Meanwhile the snow keeps on coming in Washington State.

I compiled a couple of time lapses last year of the snow melt at Crater Lake. It's usually not till July when the snow melts out there. Here's one of them:

A little closer to home, I did note last night that there are still some patches left up in the Gaspe.

Still, it's nice to have snow falling right in our region. Current 54/50 here and Rn.

Considering it has rarely happened on record I think everyone would agree it's hard. It's a bit colder up here deeper into the low level cold...50F. The insolation is fairly minimal though with the low overcast and light fog.

There must be something wrong with my sensor over in Union at 1250' because it's reading the same temp as me and I'm 600' below it! Then again, I just use it in the spring time for maple sugaring, but I do think it's a useful site so I should look at that.

And in about 990/1000 years..you would be right.

I'll take those odds and bet that we don't see it happen again in the next decade. lol. What a miserable week. hopefully we can salvage the weekend. the Euro looks good for Saturday. The GFS and GEFS is showing a chance of showers. Both however show highs in the 70s. which will feel like 90 after today.
