CoastalWx
How bad was the coastal flooding up there? It was a fail here in the western sound at least here, too much of a northerly component and very very light winds. Well typical areas flooded, but it sounded serious in some parts. I know part of Quincy along Furnace Brook had some serious tidal flooding.

Tropopause_Fold
The sustained long fetch could be the trigger. i don't think it'll be horrible...certainly have seen worse...but given what happened last night with slightly lower tides, shorter duration, and almost an offshore component to the wind...i think it'll be a decent flood event. seas should be a good bit higher tonight too. After your cool weather up there early to mid week, what are your thoughts on a warmer than normal regime starting fri or saturday, looks like it could be fairly lengthy. I am not saying torch, but above normal although I know a couple persons who think it might be a torch period.
CoastalWx
1-3 ft above normal type stuff? I think surge was 1.3' on top of already high astronomical tide...and then wave action obviously.
Clinch Leatherwood
Very very glad that stayed up there. Need pics of the flooding in Mass, no coastal peeps? I'm too depressed. Our beach looked like Cancun for the first time in 5 years. Not a rock to be found, white sand stretched a far as you could see. All for not, this storm is going to destroy the beach and that sucks so bad.

My only concern is the tendency for lower heights to our east and the delay and/or shorter period of this warmer weather because of it. However, it does appear by later this weekend and early next week, we could have at least 1-2 days of very warm..perhaps hot weather. We probably cool down a bit later next week before warmer wx returns again.

Hard to believe another above normal month is on the way, can you imagine how chilly its going to feel this fall and winter when we get a 2 3 4 week stretch of real below normal temps? Overnight lows have been so warm I think most people had forgotten what the average low was, I know I sure did. Enjoy the day fella's, make it your best ever.......off to endure this nor'easter:)
dryslot
I am wondering if that 11 inch NAM run from the other day might come true in Maine, Geezus That thought crossed my mind already, That run had 8.53" here, We are at 7.03" and counting so it may not end up that far off, GFS and Euro were underdone and the Nam will probably end up slightly overdone but not to the extreme qpf that it usually shows
CoastalWx
If those winds stay up overnight, could be a little more serious than models show as far as CF goes. Mixing should be pretty good overnight so despite models saying surface winds may decrease...still looks rather gusty.
dendrite
There's been some heavy showers moving through here at CON despite GYX radar appearing paltry over the area. It's been fluctuating between 49-50 at home.

Brian5671
somehow have missed all the rain from this--very heavy rains just the west-but not moving this way--57 out. Have a feeling Upton's optimistic with their 64.

I knew it was too good to be true. Phil it was literaly like a vacation beach. The blizzard of 05 took a ton of cliff so the summer of 05/06 were good/great. Then we had a few bad years in a row with tons of rocks and feet of sand missing. This year the sand had piled back up nicely. I'm sure it's already 30-40% gone. Ugh. ackwaves
Just a nuisance storm for us. We might see some minor erosion but nothing like if it were NE at 40 -50mph. This one is a dud. Just a typical Juneuary day for us. 56f. N at 13.

Not seeing any dramatic pressure falls yet. Where do you think those will show up? Looks to me to be way out to the east with the secondary with a track due east, no? After lunch it should pick up by a good margin, but the Euro was likely overdone which we all kind of suspected I think. Still long term fetch, it's going to be kind of nasty.
