I'm surprised that more river gauges aren't in a flood stage up in Maine:

http://water.weather...dex.php?wfo=gyx

Seems like it's been raining for days up there!

49/48 here...off to a nice cool start.

I think because of that prolonged dry spell we had earlier this spring, the rivers were able to handle this much rain. If we had our normal rainy spring we would have had serious issues.

Rain and 49 here now. Band spiralling southwest is passing through here now.

I know this wx sux technically and wouldn't want it daily. But I do like a nice stormy day with real wx sometimes...as opposed to endless summer days under the sub tropical ridge.

Ugly ugly day. I don't think we fully escqpe the onshore flow and the proverbial soup for many days although today should be the chilliest afternoon.

57.5/52 and mostly sunny.

Damn, forecast high of 59 from last night almost busted at 20 of 8 in the morning.

New forecast high, 61.

ITs great to see okx nws upton pump temps so quickly, now 67 tomorrow and up and up from there,. Lots of work to get done, so happy the rain here is a non issue. I can totally take ofvercast and 60 today, and I am very happy for those that are enjoying the upper 40s and low 50s and rain.

Mount Washington now reporting -SN at 28/28, unreal.

Light rain in Jaffrey now at 49F. They didn't get below 50F until the wee hours, however, so we'll probably see a midnight maximum.

Bringing my space heater to class. Ridiculously cold for June right now.

LOL. No rain here yet, but the band is pretty close and moving in.

48.4/45. High so far of 50.0 at midnight.

tonight could be pretty bad...relatively speaking.

I think the one thing that seems like it may mitigate it a tiny bit, is the fact that the strongest winds may be before 00z..at least north of the canal. However, the seas and surge are probably already built up by that point.

Classic OE sheet rains out there. Cellular and linear nature of some of the bands with enhancement near and just inland. Classic.

Had some peaks of sun here this morning...now cloudy and steady rain...look like we will call work off early...the rain has killed me during the week..even with the positive departures

This got me thinking, I was shocked to see the normal low here 57, normal low for orh 52, I would imagine your normal low is 49-50? So its dead on normal for the low, your high will obviously be ridiculously chilly.

62 here now, overcast.

yeah it's certainly not as bad as it could be...this tide with a 40 knot onshore wind would be serious.

i guess unlike some of our winter storms though the wind doesn't quit or flip offshore this evening...there's that pulse that comes in mid-afternoon to mid-evening but the good fetch and flow continues right through the night, just not as strong.

Very very glad that stayed up there. Need pics of the flooding in Mass, no coastal peeps?

How bad was the coastal flooding up there? It was a fail here in the western sound at least here, too much of a northerly component and very very light winds.

still ongoing, yea south coast areas are nil with no southerly component. Lots of reports of water in the streets.up there. If the winds crank there could be some moderate to serious flooding on East facing Mass, Maine coasts

The sustained long fetch could be the trigger.

Much of Maine has had extended light-moderate rain, bringing many rivers to the edge of flood stage but not much beyond. Also, the headwaters of some rivers have missed the heaviest amounts. Where the rain fell more heavily, areas 20-30 miles N and W of PWM, small-medium streams have done some damage and the Presumpscut reached 6' over flood stage.
