Very impressive little storm going on right now. Lots of loud thunder - and vivid lightning. Worse appears to be JUST to my west - directly over Misquamicut. Should be some interesting stories from those that decided to stick around.

Just 3 hours ago I was saying that today was probably going to end up being one of the top 3 beach days of year. How quickly things change!

Incredible amount of water falling from the sky. Since 10 am yesterday, 7.50" of rain has fallen here at home. Since midnight, 5.67". Band after band of rain backing in off the GOM.

I was noticing that on the radar...there is going to be some impressive totals up there. I remember back in October 2005 we had 6.20" inches on the last night and it just poured all night so I know what it's like. Hang in there!

Checking www.timeanddate.com .... We (ALB) gain 9 more minutes of sun in the evening and 2 more minutes in the morning.

Then we head back toward the best season. :) Already on 6/22 we lose a minute in the AM, but takes awhile in the evening.

I've never understood disliking the increased daylight. It seems counter to what we are programmed for as a species. I struggle with losing light and it is mitigated by the knowledge that snow is getting closer. But the long days to me are the best part of summer.
