NYCSuburbs
NE NJ was shafted in between the two areas of heavy rain, with the other area going into Long Island as suggested by the radar last night prior to the storm's arrival, total was a little over 1/2 inch. Not bad, but could've been more interesting here.

Dark Energy
looks like a top 10 day today warm temps and low humidity Yea, we should enjoy today b/c after today thru mid week, all you need to do is watch the convective temp. Once we reach that by late morning, it's cloudy and chance of shras. At least the early parts of the day should be nice. The one nice thing about upper low's is that you can use a persistance forecast.
snywx
Wow, looks like you hit the jackpot locally, .77 storm total as if 7:30 over this was way with light rain holding on at the moment. 1.57" total rain.. Wow!
Dark Energy
Looks like we have a vort lobe coming in from the west. This sun may not last too long. Already have Sc upstream heading this way.

Dark Energy
Remaining dry, though? Maybe some sprinkles, maybe. There is a dry slot at mid levels so the column is not deeply saturated like it will be starting tomorrow.

bluewave
We'll see if we can get some over performing cold pool storms with the passage of the upper low later tomorrow.
bkviking
74F here in Port Jeff with cumulus straddling the whole area as I look around. I was hoping it to rain so someone I knew had "rain on their parade" but doesn't look like it. North Shore of central and eastern LI is somehow protected. Of course, tomorrow when I need sun and pleasantness all day we will buck odds and have a shower.

Yet we managed to be several degrees above normal despite the cloudy days and rain.
NYCSuburbs
I don't remember the last time there was a stretch of cool temperatures (highs in the 60s, low 70s) lasting for this long in June... June 2009 was quite chilly (and cloudy/rainy) but if I remember correctly there weren't this many consecutive days of temperatures that chilly. bluewave
Steep mid level lapse rates and a 35 kt 700 mb jet should usher in some storms with the cold pool and upper low this afternoon.

Weathergun
This might be overdone, but the latest HRRR is also showing a line of showers and t-storms coming through this afternoon. A little bit earlier than the 0z SPC WRF, between 3 and 6pm. Looking at radar out west, the earlier timing might be correct.
SACRUS
For NYC and most other stations you have to go back to January for a daily departure of -10 or greater. I think we'll tack on two of these mon - wed. Clouds already moving into E-PA quickly. I think we're in the clouds around noon.
SACRUS
The good news for those who like sunny/summery weather, is that guidance is converging on building the ridge east between the 8th and the 10th with the potential of some much warmer to hot weather by then. TheTrials
I dont buy the HRRRRRRRR. Mountains and stable environment will kill off those storms. They already look much weaker than they did an hour or two ago and haven't even hit the big mountains yet.
