Really was not very impress with heat today....we work 7-6 and 7-5 yesterday......we agree yesterday seem worse....guess the nam busted a bit to warm....granted it was hot....but seem like nothing more then run of the mill summer heat....today would have been a great beach/pool day...limited haze...low humidity...and a slight breeze

Yea whatever the actual dewpoints were it didn't feel that humid at all. And the skies being decently blue was a big plus I agree. Nothing worse than clear skies being reported when in reality the sky is anything but.

... Record high temperature set at LaGuardia NY...

a record high temperature of 98 degrees was set at LaGuardia NY today.

This ties the old record of 97 set in 1953.

Figure that out!

Shocking that CPK is the lowest temp in the northeast...

Central Park needs an investigation.

I just went upstate from Brooklyn to the catskill mountains elevation at my place 1,600ft temp at my home station in brooklyn around 90, up here it's a nice 73, not bad almost 20 degrees cooler.

Heading up that way on sunday for a wedding near Hunter

todays departure was +13.5 bringing the months departure to -25...Tomorrow could see another +10 to +15...Saturday about a plus 5...so we should be -5 to -10 when the cool temps return...

I think sunday adds some positives, mon maybe a wash then tue - fri negatives. perhaps -5 to -10 one or 2 of those days.

TUES-WED looks like a few days of -4 to -6 and then the models are hinting that we will be back above

90 degrees next weekend.

Still seems to be a tendency to have some trouhiness into the northeast next weekend. This could keep temps closer to norm with more wamrth into the week of the 2nd and 4th july weekend. We'll have to see too if storms and rain chances remain high like they will mon - thu.

The heat surge, next weekend, is in between two troughs.

The main ridge position should be to our west but heights should come up enough here for places

to reach back above 90 but not the big heat that we just experienced. I think that we'll have to wait

for the ridge to strengthen NE of Hawaii again some time in July for the next really strong push of heat.
