And the skies being decently blue was a big plus I agree. Nothing worse than clear skies being reported when in reality the sky is anything but. psv88
... Record high temperature set at LaGuardia NY... a record high temperature of 98 degrees was set at LaGuardia NY today. This ties the old record of 97 set in 1953. Figure that out! Shocking that CPK is the lowest temp in the northeast...
SACRUS
Once we get by the mon - thu (6/25 - 6/28) period next week with the deep trough and ULL, we should see temps moderate by next weekend and then warm by the start of Jul 4th into that weekend. Still seems to be a tendency to have some trouhiness into the northeast next weekend. This could keep temps closer to norm with more wamrth into the week of the 2nd and 4th july weekend. We'll have to see too if storms and rain chances remain high like they will mon - thu.

The main ridge position should be to our west but heights should come up enough here for places to reach back above 90 but not the big heat that we just experienced. I think that we'll have to wait for the ridge to strengthen NE of Hawaii again some time in July for the next really strong push of heat.
