Yep...another crappy week...went fron torch to flooding concerns...lol...euro close to 2 inches..ggem agrees with gfs...i think today was the first crappy Saturday in a while

actually this week was the driest week in about 6 weeks and we had more sun then they were forecasting earlier in the week.

Euro is at odds with the GFS and swiftly moves the cold front out and builds in high pressure by Thursday

Todays's high/low/dep

clouds in the way especially around NYC and points north. Overall not a bad day here in c-nj had a few hours of sun then clouds followed by sun later i n the day. Potential there tomorrow for some 90 readings if we can stay sunny.

NYC: 78/64 (+1)

EWR: 82/62 (+2)

LGA: 80/70 (+5)

JFK:

TTN: 83/62 (+4)

ACY: 88/62 (+6)

How freakin ridiculous is LGA's low. I mean no one is even close.

Heat signal for fathers day/beyond continues on 12z guidance - more so on the ECM.

The ECM has been a bit too bold with longer range ridges with this pattern, including this current time frame if I recall correctly. There could easily be at least some heat in this time frame but then the back door cold front question comes up, as models have been underestimating that in some cases as well.

Out in the North Fork, and it's a gorgeous 77 degrees.

The water is still brutally cold to swim. Last year at this time, water was in the upper 60's to low 70's. So far this year it's still low to mid 60's and unswimmable.

two isolated t-showers in the Catskills, otherwise fair and beautiful, still, across the region.

2PM Roundup

TEB: 85

NYC: 80

EWR: 87

LGA: 80

JFK: 78

TTN: 85

ACY: 82

PHL: 91

SMH. Should not be an official reporting station on that runway, not to mention the shifty stuff that we have seen there.

Gorgeous in Northport by the water as well. Had brunch outside and you can smell that comfortable sea air coming through the alleys of town. Then we took a walk on the waterfront with the baby under these big trees. Nice boats there for sure. Perfect weather day. I'd take one of these every day through the end of August.

It feels like 87 here today, NAM was progging near 90 temps this afternoon at Newark for three days. Not sure what you're shaking your head over.

Ever notice that everyone who "complains" about EWR's readings being wrong lives more than 30 miles from the airport?

its a suspect reporting site sitting on a tarmac so whatever it feels like out there means nothing.

Clouds and sse winds cooling off EWR - NYC area.

Made it up to 88 here in C-NJ. Newark more representative of a good chunk of the area than the park is. note TEB, Elizabeth, SI all closer to EWR than NYC today,

80.3/68 here in Dobbs Ferry, doing some work on the veggie garden...already been harvesting arugula, green leaf lettuce, peas and a few jalapeno peppers. Warm day that calls for AC inside the car but is comfortable for outdoor activities as well. NWS has mid 70s for the rest of the week with an unsettled pattern taking shape, but I'll be inside working and taking Masters classes anyway.

every single nyc airport asos is on a grassy area near tarmac. if tarmac invalidates an asos, then all of these are "suspect"

Because Central Park hitting 89.9999 isn't essentially the same thing. He's so extra.

To be fair, Central Park reached 89 degrees in the end of May, not June, but stating that NYC hasn't hit 90 degrees to support that there hasn't been any heat doesn't work. 89 and 90 degrees are basically the same; the only difference is how it goes down on the records.
