so when did this weekend go from being mostly sunny to mostly cloudy...yuck

Storm complex tracking along the rim of the ridge centered west. Luckily we look mainly dry for now with some breaks of clouds pushing into PA.

Should see more sun tomorrow and push temps up. Monday is onshore flow-ish. 00z guidance warm to hot again for fathers day weekend but lets see if we can sustain the signal.

Another Hot signal again? What happened to the 90's for this weekend into next week? Another fail.

NYC was not supposed to see 90's this weekend . Check out the Euro and ensemble mean 168 hr forecast from

last weekend. Parts of NJ have a shot at 90 tomorrow especially further SW.

Guidance was pointing to heat in the Sun - Wed period through about this past Tue then slowly sniffed out weakness over the northeast to cause more onshore flow mon - tue. Tomorrow still a contender in my mind for some areas.

My point is there was a signal on the 00z guidance from last night for next (fathers day) weekend - lets see how it progresses. 12z yesterday wasnt hot - just above normal for the period

There were posts on here from last weekend talking about 90's and heat building in for at least a stretch starting this weekend.

I think people were commenting on the DGEX but it was not lined up with the ensemble guidance.

Last weekend and earlier this past week, guidance was showing such a scenario for the period 6/10 - 6/12. By tue evening and wed models were sniffing out the backdoor/onshore flow for mon-tue.

Initially we still have some ocean influence next weekend but maybe by the early part of the following week

we start to see more SW flow.

that's a lot of heat coming east. hopefully the southward influence of the -nao will relax a bit.... i think that eventually happens by the end of the month

the euro correctly latched onto the blocking idea by that point. last night's run doesn't look remotely close to what's happening this weekend... there's a broad flat trough in ne canada instead of a block

the gfes has the same look too

the core of the + anomalies is at our longitude instead of the ohio valley/midwest

The only time 90s were expected this year was in late May and that verified quite well. There were talks of low-mid 90s in the warmest possible scenario for this weekend, mostly fueled by the almost-always-exaggerated DGEX, but 90s were never officially in the forecast.

It looks like its going to be tuesday night into wednesday and then out of here. Today really wasn't that bad. Low 80s, a few hours of sun, no rain.

Yep...another crappy week...went fron torch to flooding concerns...lol...euro close to 2 inches..ggem agrees with gfs...i think today was the first crappy Saturday in a while
