Doldrums of weather heading into June

you forgot to bold the east part of that LOL, spin spin away Mike! Looking at that meso map its clear where the warmest temps are, from your area on east, while your special place might be an outlier.

GFS looks awesome!

I must have misread your comment. It read as if you were including the Hill Towns in there. The warmth is from the valley east.

You were right for the wrong reason. Sorry

I'm fairly certain that my reasoning for why it would be in the 60s on Wednesday was because that is what the computer models were putting out. I can go all the way back to the 00Z runs on Friday night and show you that they have been forecasting 60s for us.

And for your next argument which is "why are your looking at the operational models and basing your forecasts off them?"

My response is that: For one the SREFS didn't go out that far for the 00Z runs last Friday. I don't have access to the Euro Ensembles. And the GEFS that I have only has 925 temps. Not surface. Second, these are the same models that during the winter, you live and die by.

So I'm sorry that I use the weather prediction models to help make a weather prediction. Next time I want to try to make a forecast I will wait for my bones to ache or stick my thumb up my ass and forecast the temp off that.

Latest okx upton forecast is simply incredible here

thur psunny 75

fri sunny 75

sat mostly sunny 75

sun mostly sunny 75

mon mostly sunny 77

tuesday mostly sunny 79

:)

it's a bit of strange pattern going into and through the weekend with the ULL retrograding and lurking off the Mid-Atlantic. i could see it being really nice if HP does it's thing but could also see development of stagnant cloud decks with a bit of a moist LL flow stuck under HP.

not too dissimilar to what we've been through.

Yep, was looking at modeling and I agree, I think the further west is best but sun and a nice east breeze is just luxurious. Forecast looks dead on average with some possible heat building in next week, the transition is wonderful. Looks like eastern areas could really seabreeze with the possibility of a marine layer as well.

What would you call temps in the mid-upper 70's and muggy? Wintry?

well if it was in the mid and upper 70s and muggy i'd say that's summery. but when it's 65-75, mostly cloudy and there's showers moving in....i kind of look at that as not summery. but that's just me.

This has been the most overcast start to summer since we moved here in 2007. Non - stop clouds in the Valley with only occasional sun even when it's bright south and east of here.

I envy that you got your grass seed down when you did and were able to take advantage of all the dry-begets- dry rainfall. I finally got mine down on Sunday and yesterday (stil have to get another 25-50 lbs to get it all seeded). It will get a good watering now, but not sure when it will get any more ftl.

At least I have a ton of wood for the next few winters ready to be cut and split (need any?).

normal is 79 i think.

either way. not really summery. not overly muggy. not supersunsationalspectacularsplendidness.

just a day.

Haha but its no fun if you can't spin it.

I wish Blizz or LL were skiers... I could use them in marketing. Every winter day up here would be "the best day EVER! and you wouldn't want to miss it."
