Doldrums of weather heading into June

With my new lawn seeding being finished today, I'll hope for the LP domination. Dry begets dry.

INCREASE

POPS TO CATEGORICAL AS CONFIDENCE IS HIGH THAT PRECIP WILL

OCCUR...PRECIP COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES AS PWATS ARE BETWEEN

1.5-1.75. QUESTION FOR THE END OF THE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND IS

WHETHER THE MARINE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GULF OF MAINE WILL HOLD

OUT OR WILL THE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVING UP FROM THE MID ATLANTIC

DOMINATE. BECAUSE OF THIS UNCERTAINTY KEPT POPS GENERALLY THE SAME

BUT LEANED TOWARDS A DRIER FORECAST...AS THE EURO SOLUTIONS ARE IN

GOOD AGREEMENT WITH THE HIGH PRESSURE

54/54, after today's blistering high in the mid seventies it looks like we'll struggle to hit 70 for most of the upcoming work week. This, along with some rain, should keep us quite comfortable and prevent any further damage from the imaginary drought. Nice!

Closing in on 20% of met summer down with no HHH.

Yep, tick tock. Thankfully summer is short to begin with. With each day that passes cool and comfy there is one less potential day of ugly heat. Within 75 days and the first hints of Autumn color will be showing up here in the high terrain. Under 100 days now until the leaves are actually falling.

Great shawl weather this past week, more coming up? Too bad I'm bound for Phoenix again.

Hey Lars, hope you're well. You end up spending quite a bit of time in very hot places.

It evens out over time, but most of the country is pretty hot most of the summer.

As you well know, sometimes West Chesterfield is the only cool place.

Nice day today with widespread 80's inland. Tan the napes and enjoy

Or not. When will you admit the June high heat and drought call was a bust? Today

Haven't heard from my freinds up on Denali yet. We're waiting for a call saying they're ready for extraction. They'll need a good weather window for Ken to fly in to get them. They've been on the mountain for nearly 3 weeks in below zero cold and supplies will be running low. I'm sure they'll be happy to see Ken and the Super Cub.

Bright and comfortable morning here, low was near 40. Every day this month so far has had a low in the 40s, except the 1st when it was 39. June 1-9 avg is 60/44, not the best for the garden (it's "surviving") but just fine for me otherwise.

I just posted this very sort of thing in the NNE thead: every moring low so far this month at our locale has been in the 40s. Point & click for tomorrow morning is 52 but we'll see....

Good chance for it. I can't imagine what phoenix is like in the summer.....yikes.

I was once there for a wedding 4th of July weekend about 25 years ago. Dropped below 100 after midnight. I ran one morning just to see what it was like (was still rather young and foolish) and folks gathered on their front lawns to gape at me...lol.

Nice day...perfect weekend. Heading for a party on a harbor cruise involving the whole family early evening tonight. Dress up event..should be fun.

Have fun Jerry! Daughters softball game, then beach, then back on the deck and by the pit for a bbq, weather is perfect and BSE2 rolls on!

I could stand for a cruise. Spending the last 5 hours splitting wood has me a bit beat. At least these comfy low 70's relativley dry air make it much more comfortable than one would expect in a torcherous June. Two day sin a row without rain--pretty darn impressive!

Enjohing my diect coke on the shady deck, ftw.

Just wrapped up the whole grocery store/lawn mowing/finish staining the deck gauntlet...

Time to get cleaned up then off to Barre for my son't last regular season game before the playoffs.

Not that hot but I am sweating like a pig

I had told my wife I had two things I wanted to accomplish: finish splitting the wood that has been cut and finish mowing the lawn. Got 3/4 of the wood done and didn't touch the lawn. Much less finish my seeding. Apparently the 50 lbs of seed I bought yesterday didn't cut it. Maybe I should just get it hydroseeded (is that expenseive)?

Enjoy the game.

DC > C0

absolute perfection I love the doldrums.

LOL

Meanwhile, wife wants me to find a new location for the Davis--she thinks it's an eyesore with respect to the area we just cleared.

Beautiful here in Dobbs Ferry, 80.3/68 with sunny skies. A touch humid for my taste but I'm loving being outside working in the vegetable garden. It doesn't look like a torch is coming soon as NWS has mid 70s for most of the week here in Westchester....that's not particularly warm for June, although mild overnight lows could give us a couple of positive departures. In any case, doesn't look as if we sniff 80F for a while after today as the heat remains centered to the west/southwest.
