Mid 70s here and full sun

you were far enough North and East...NYC was far enough S and W....narrow band of crappy weather and it was our turn I guess. It has since cleared out and we're up to 74...highest of the day...

so much for the severe threat today though--nothing anywhere.

I only made it to 73.2F in Westchester, down to 72.9F now in Dobbs Ferry. I was doing some certification exams today in Yonkers, and everyone was commenting on how chilly it was inside the classrooms against the forecast of 80 and sunny.

Oddly they haven't been too bad here so far. I think in part because it's been so cool. With all the standing water around (despite the drought) they should be out in full force if we get some warm weather.

They're not in large numbers here either. Figured I might be carried away by them this morning on my paddle but only had to half-heartedly swat at one. Black flies also a non-factor. BSE2? You bet!

I have had 2.5 of rain this week, we are at the fire pit with Tiki torches going, watching the celts on the IPad and getting smoked by ,squitoes

Yeah, the black flies really died off quick. We had a few weeks that were bad but that's to be expected. Some years they last well into June. The mosquitos haven't been that bad, I mean, you'd still be eaten alive if you were staked to the ground overnight but it would take longer than normal. I remember one night I had been at the lake fishing and when I got to shore to load up I was set upon by the thickest swarm of mosquitos I've ever seen. I had a little Ford Ranger at the time and tieing the big flat water canoe on was a trick. Even though I had done this routine a thousand times I lost all focus. The damn things were in my ears and eyes. When I breathed in they were in my mouth. It was maddening. I managed to ratchet everything down and booked out of there. I think you're right, with all this cool, cloudy, bug free weather this may be the BSE2 !!!! Ayut.

It's always amazed me how just a few miles can make a difference in the weather. 71° for a high here. It's cooled off nicely to 60° now. FTW, we were cloudy for most of the day until later in the afternoon and by then, the sun starts to move behind the trees/ridge to my west.

Went to a BBQ at my sisters. Mainly all the comics people because her husband does that. ALB comicscon on Sun.

Anyway.... nice cool evening, breezy and fell from 69 at 4 pm to 65 around 8. Now 56 here. That MCS Type deal earlier Saturday brushed us, but the vast bulk of it hit south of here.

This is my kind of summer. Bring on another nice upper low.
