Mr Torchey
June 16-22, 2012 Thoughts: The June 16-22 period is likely to feature widespread warmth. At the same time, there is a growing possibility that an unseasonably hot air mass could be heading eastward toward the end of the period, setting the stage for a hot final week of the month in the Ohio Valley, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeast regions. The chart below is as follows: The composite temperature anomalies for ENSO Region 3.4 anomalies of -0.2°C to +0.5°C, a PNA of -1.25 to -0.25, and an AO of -0.50 to +0.50 for North America. Taking into consideration the ensemble guidance, NAEFS, and CFSv2, I suspect that there will be more warmth than what the teleconnection analogs suggest. My thoughts are as follows: - Cool along the West Coast of the U.S. - Generally warmer than normal across Canada and Alaska - Warmer than normal across the remainder of the U.S. with the warmest anomalies in the Plains States. We can only hope Donny baseball is correct.
Tropopause_Fold
We have this weird vacation policy where sick days, personal days, holidays..etc are all bundled up and we can use that. So I have a ton of time, technically. We also can cash in 5 days that we didn't use at the end of the year which is nice. But, I will have to save some days since Lil Scoot is on the way. nice!! congrats dude!!!

Nothing is better than the weenies on here for the 6z NAM. Particularly when the Euro has yanked the rug out from under a snow threat and the 6z NAM prints out 1.5" liquid all snow for LGA. Ginx snewx
This made me laugh. Well we know you will not see anything exciting, you are the king of banal weather. It follows you around like a puppy dog. I picture you like this when the rest of us are ripping heavy snow and you are sprinkling, you have a weather wall surrounding you. As objective as I am about wx, this is truly the most boring stretch of wx I have ever experienced. I think most feel that way. A renegade tstm is not going to change the pattern since the Fall. CT Rain
Not to get Ginx too hot and bothered over a sandbag... but most rivers in S CT east of New Haven set their record crests 30 years ago today after 10"-15" of rain in a 48 hour period. http://ryanhanrahan.wordpress.com/2012/05/12/the-great-1982-flash-flood/ While northern and western CT remembers 1955... New London and Middlesex Counties flood of record was in June of 1982.

tamarack
They won't get that big, Black flies by day squitos by night, Will still be wearing long sleeves and pants even in the heat 1st deerflies sighted yesterday. Mosquitos daintily sip your blood thru a straw, blackflies scratch a spot and lick, but deerflies carve off a slice and fly away with it. (Feels that way, anyway.) They're also unaffected by any bug dope I've used; Ben's 100 is like salad dressing for them. I've heard that flaming kerosene would work, but I'm leery of side effects. Yesterday had enough sun that I called it PC, but it's still all gray this morning. Maybe we got today's wx yesterday and yest's today? Might hear some rumbles tomorrow, some "drums" in the doldrums? Ginx snewx
.PARTS OF THE NORTHEAST... A FAIRLY POTENT SHORT-WAVE TROUGH DIGGING SEWD TOWARD NEW ENGLAND COMBINED WITH MODEST AFTERNOON DESTABILIZATION SHOULD RESULT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS -- FROM ERN NY INTO MUCH OF NEW ENGLAND. WITH THE STORMS DEVELOPING IN A FORECAST BACKGROUND KINEMATIC ENVIRONMENT OF MODERATELY STRONG NWLY FLOW THROUGH A DEEP LAYER...POTENTIAL FOR EVOLUTION OF ONE OR MORE FAST-MOVING BOWING SEGMENTS APPEARS POSSIBLE. THUS...IT APPEARS THAT POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WINDS -- DESPITE THE MODEST INSTABILITY -- WARRANTS INCLUSION OF A SLIGHT RISK AREA. A couple more capatin's and coke always seem to work for dad, Newborn until pre teen bring a whole lot of challanges then after that its a new set with the introduction of girl or boy freinds, I can't complain, My 2 boys growing up were no problems, 20 and 24 but they were heavy into sports so no time to get in much trouble.
