What temperature threshold are we using to categorize a "torch" anyway?

Well Kevin and company seem to think high 80s from Sunday-Thursday which is stretching the term torch anyways..lol. Normal for BDL will be 80 -81 next week.

It just looks like a lot of onshore flow. Probably still warm over the interior...but thicknesses are deceiving in something like this. We'll see what the euro ensembles do. There are some details to work out.

In the other thread about TSTMS..I was talking to HM about this. It's usually a mild to warm pattern for the interior..but when you have a heat dome out west, it usually means high pressure to our east.

Just to be mean to the warm weather arguers...

NCEP:

"12Z MODEL GUIDANCE OF GFS/CMC/UKMET ALL INDICATE A STRONGER NERN/MID ATLC COAST BACK DOOR FRONT COMING DOWN SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY THAN PREVIOUS RUNS. DAY 5 TEMPS ADJUSTED ACCORDINGLY...."

BSE2 continues to roll on here on the gold coast, mostly sunny afternoon and wonderful late spring temperatures. L2theL just crushing it.

BSE2 continues to roll on here in GC, mostly cloudyafternoon with rain showers and wonderful chilly temperatures. The torch is just getting crushed by it.

Incredibly dark sky to the east as a kernel passes by about ten miles in that direction, some of the best skies I have seen in quite a long time the last two days, towering cnb's backdropped by cobalt blue. Atmophere is crystal clean.
