Mrs.J
Probably because of the squall line that is still to come through, I doubt it stays up until 2am Yea I can understand for East of me, but you are probably right as the line is pushing into Frederick Co. right now. I am guessing once it goes through we will eventually be dropped.

Eskimo Joe
Real quick: WW #338 is in effect until 2:00am because the line will take that long to clear the Red Box. Local WFOs can make short term amendments and graduall drop counties at the line clears them. Stay safe! Goodnight.

SmokeEater
Some can...they can get up into high end EF1/low EF2 on occasion. Not to discredit your experience though. You could be right man, it was my first tornado, lol. That was one hell of a gustnado if that's the case. It looked a lot like Kory Hartman's video when he got hit in IA. smokeybandit
06/01/2012 0608 PMSevern, Anne Arundel County. Funnel cloud, reported by trained spotter. If course, can't see the rotation on a still photo, but I'm assuming this was it, since it was the same time and I'm right around the corner from Severn. mdhokie
Unless I'm in some anti-tornado zone, those reports from severn and BWI are fishy. It never really got that windy here at all. I saw a lot of low, fast moving clouds like shown in that picture, but nothing rotating or touching the ground.

I saw a lot of low, fast moving clouds like shown in that picture, but nothing rotating or touching the ground. I was there for the 1st cell, It was questionable if it was scud or a funnel but the whole area was rotating. I don't doubt the BWI tower report. Derecho!
Intense and tight couplet still north of Hampton. Wow...looks like that BARELY missed Newport News Shipbuilding (only yard that can build aircraft carriers in the country, 1 of 2 that can build submarines) but it may have gone over some very important Fast Sealift Ships that are kept in reserve. tornadotony
The gustnado talk w/r/t what SE encountered borders on asinine given the radar signature. Also, I love the doubting of the BWI report when it is an airport observer report with corroborating damage.
