It is a pretty boring weather day across the plains, got to look for some weather action somewhere. East coast severe is still pretty foreign to me though, so take anything I say with a grain of salt, haha.

Its mostly foreign to us too

LOL...

I think the first round of development across VA will begin with scattered supercells and it could be the best show tornado-wise today (not to discredit further north with the potential for embedded supercells in the QLCS).

Visible satellite starting to show a noteworthy warm sector with clearing across Virginia, moving north and east towards DC / Baltimore / Frederick.

Very cloudy here....based on history for this area I can see a nice squall line develop pretty close to here but get really intense as it moves East towards DC...not really looking forward to any severe weather but as always...I'm up for some intense rainfall

I think we do better here than what you are thinking. Clouds are breaking up just to our south. I think between i 70 and i 64 will be the sweet spot for the region. If that cloud cover hangs on tough further north, chances will be meh up there.

But like you I will take the rain that is the most important to me

thanks for rephrasing my post in a more technical way

Has horst mentioned anything about this afternoon, other than his special wx disco?

I do what I can :P ... I'm not up there, so in short I don't know. During the summer there's no set schedule for the morning forecasts, its just whoever shows up. You can certainly call him though, he gets calls all the time.

Maybe we will get some nice dual-pol images today
