Ginx snewx
Well that was a fun evening. Torrential rains all the way home from work. Highway flooded and wall to wall cars. Took back roads home. Cloud formations were sweet. Quite a few cg strikes. Yea me too, not boring

Quincy
saw an Instagram pic of pea-sized hail, location in CT not yet determined. I also saw my second rainbow in two days, but both were in the rear-view mirror. couldn't capture it safely this time (on 95)
moneypitmike
Awesome pics of the clouds to those who posted them. It's come to the point where even if there's no thunder that I think we all anticipate bouts of rain just about every day. I'm sure it'll change, but for now, dry begets dry. Wonkis
Although the sky grew dark like the world was about to end - and there were some torrential rains and some cg bolts - there was nothing really severe to report. The lightning was probably the culprit behind the 16,500 power outages in SE PVD County: http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/06/power-outages-h.html

RIcoastalWX
No reports from SE CT or Rhode Island? Decent looking storms, could be dropping pea-sized hail in spots. i was lucky enough to be in Hope Valley RI for today's storms. First one hit around 4:45 and the other around 6pm. Very torrential rains - I would guess between 2 and 2.5 inches (and radar estimates seem to back that up). Lot's of CG lightning and incredible cloud formations. No wind and no hail in Hope Valley however I did see a cell phone picture a friend took of their hail covered deck in West Greenwich RI. E CT and W RI certainly has been the sweet spot this week for thunderstorms! Loving it!!!

Typhoon Tip
Why is large hail the concern on Friday? Primary threat appears to be wind, though hail around any more organized updrafts can't be discounted. This is a forced ascent scenario due to jet mechanics. There's not enough CAPE alone to break CIN, so a yank from aloft is needed here, and there's plenty of that with first right entrance, then left exit jet skimming the area. If forced ascent can sustain updrafts (mid level super c) then I could see hail, otherwise this is a mixing of wind down scenario.
