CoastalWx
It's too dark for a good shot... lots of mammatus streaming overhead to the east with scud racing northwestward. Perfect time around dusk for it to look really creepy. LOL, that's right...it's night. I'm not near any windows right now so lost track of time. scoob40
Well don't forget guys, this was not supposed to be much of anything from ORH and areas SE of 84. Seems like it's going as planned all along. Not much near CEF on east I would say.
moneypitmike
Storms now popping just south of greenwich and stamford right along a seabreeze boundary and outflow. Was wondering if that was going to happen. Very dark skies just to the west, hoping for a halfway decent lightshow Same here. But, it's 8:30p.m.,
CoastalWx
Is it a sneaky BL that is breaking things up north of ORH? Yeah BDF is kicking the legs out of those tstms moving east. Even though Keene was backdoored, they cleared out and were close enough to the warm front to get nailed by tstms. It goes back to what OceanStWx said. If you can warm up even a little near the boundary, but still be on the cool side...you can really get strong tstms. That happens all the time in the Plains. E-SE winds there are not marine taint. Probably not marine tainted with SW winds coming off the city proper.
radarman
Heaviest rains are moving out now... we'll hit 1" pretty much on the nose along with some cool looking skies and much more comfortable temps. No real complaints. SPC did well here. Clearly reluctant to issue the watch and going with low probs. Nice job to them, and also to the mets here who called for the line near dark, with nothing discrete beforehand. There were some downed trees out in the Berks and nearly 4000 without power. From MEMA: Power outages as of 7:30PM are as follows: WMECO: 602 total with additional line crews working and on c Communities with significant outages: • Greenfield 77 • Lee 465 • Tyringham 53 National Grid: 3290 with additional crews working Communities with significant outages: • Alford 346 • Great Barrington 1,115 • Hancock 372 • Monterey 117 • Mount Washington 40 • New Marlboro 598 • Williamstown
