Was out in Missouri at my younger brother's wedding the last four days,

and missed the Mid-Atlantic event. Would have been interesting tracking

the mesocyclones across Maryland. The plane I was on needed to go

into a holding pattern as a thunderstorm moved over the PHL airport

right at the time for landing a few hours ago. Saw some lightning outside

of the window of the plane which was a first. Seems as though we have

some skilled storm chasers around here based on videos and such.

Also of note, the storm in near Centreville in Queen Anne's MD put

down an EF-0 near 8:30 PM. Mt. Holly's CWA first tornado since

late August 2011 during Irene. A SVR was issued at 8:07, 23 minutes

before the tornado. No TOR was issued, as is often the case around

here with weak tornadoes. The SVR did mention that a tornado may

occur without much indication.

SO i reviewed the video a little more. took a few snap shots for those who have a tough time making out the tornado due to the proximity to it and being rain wrapped:

@ 431, before they turn right onto the road that has the wawa on the right, i believe you can see the outline of the shape of the tornado. I drew a blue line just left of where there seems to be a distince vertical shape which is contrasted darker than the skies next to it.

Next:

At 5:09, as they were making the right turn and holding each others hands, you can def see an outline in the background to the right side of the still. I believe this is the tornado. Winds were blowing towards the contrasted area as were the words " we're in the tornado, holy $hit!"

next:

@ 5:12 the tornado is directly in front of them , with some intense inflow winds blowing past them. At this point, Captain Obvious and his heralded sidekick videographer with Turrets are saying " we're in a tornado"...

Next:

5;17.. STILL ALIVE WITHOUT A DOMINATOR......the plot thickens..

you can clearly see debris being lifted up into the air and circling, indicitive of such said tornado. "it's right here, son of a bitc^" was the scientific phrase used by our east coast interceptors to describe the geographical location of the tornado, which was very useful. Circled, you can see the debris, in the air. Justa guesstimate of how how the debris was.

next:

5:22, What looks like a power flash, was actually an intense orgasm by our fearsome weenies that surged the power grid into obvlivion.

Hope this helps some of you out there.

:lmao: yea u can tell who pitches and who catches lol

Based on the video, I think it's easy to tell WHO wears the pants in that relationship. :lmao:

Again, great job by those 2.

:lmao:

Ths is quickly turning into a classic...

same theme today again. Sun and heating form the day will cause showers and storms to break out later on. Hail, gusty winds and hvy rains main issue. The storm trajectory should be more north to south today instead of nw to sw

scattered showers in N PA are doing exactly this. Good call.

This spring has been full of odd patterns.

5% hail risk today.. To sun things up:

-lack of shear

-lack of moisture in the lower levels

-decent lift

-solid cold pool overhead

-good lapse rates at the mid and low levels. Let's see how warm we get.

I hear there's good moisture levels at the surface, so we've got that going for us...;)
