wederwarrior
2.08 up this way. Thought there would've been more the way it was dumping. And a beautiful crisp morning today. Nice start to June.
tombo82685
next week looks pretty unsettled with showers and storms each day. If we can get some storms to build a decent top and pounch into the frz level. Could be some hailers. Their is going to be a nice cold pool over us so the frz level is going to be lower. Grothar
I believe it! I received 3.15 inches of rain last night in the rain gauge. The little Lehigh is a sea of brown out of its banks and actually the water level alert went off this morning for the gauge on 10th street in Allentown indicating the creek was still in flood stage. I'm still amazed at the intensity of what went through @11pm last night. I pull a polished aluminum tank trailer which was kind of dirty at the start of my shift and that thing looked like it was pressure washed after the heaviest of the rain had passed. SmokeEater
Hahahahahahaha I can't stop laughing! " tornado ! We're in it! Son of bit€h!" hahaha. Nice video. I'm guessing when you first turned right, that was the tornado ahead of you's? Honestly, I think initially it touched down right on us. When we were at the light, I looked up out the front windshield, and it was spinning like crazy, and that's when all hell broke loose. I think right after we turned, it was right there, slowly moving up Bel Air Rd. The tree damage from it starts back before the Wawa, that's what makes me think it touched down either on us, or just to our left. (Don't remember whether that was North or South, to give you direction wise.)
SmokeEater
We got lucky though, 1/4 mile up Bel Air Rd, is where the structural damage was, and the vehicles flipped over. Lots of cars driving down the road had windows broken out.

Minnesota Meso
SmokeEater....Don't rail me too hard, I sound like a complete moron in the video, lol. I don't think you sound like a moron, to me one of your first comments, call this is in was the calm and appropriate response, the rest of it was just human nature reacting to being in a tornado. And I agree, I think tornado genesis(sp) happened just above you or very close within a block or two of where you were at. Was that skill or luck that you positioned yourself at that point instead of 1/4 mile up the road?? That's only for you to answer. .

We were actually snaking to a degree our way back down out of York County where Shrewsbury,PA is where we saw a possible funnel and heavy rain then went back to that wal-mart there in Shrewsbury and saw another wall cloud spoke to some people there, then worked our way down to near South West Bel Air. The traffic at the 2 lights before this one caused us to be where we were. Once we got by the Wawa, I turned off Bel Air Rd., because I realized how close we were. When I went back out, I thought the couplet had moved on slightly, but it hadn't. Getting down there, yes we worked our way around to the SE side of the storm, but had to somewhat core punch it, not much of a core but rain, and at that point we ended up by the Wawa, where the video was shot. Getting there was skill, close in was all luck, lol.

(down to me means worked your way south) That sounds to me like you went south maybe south east to position yourself in the right spot, sounds to me like some skill was involved with this, but maybe a bit close for comfort. If you know what I mean. Good luck in future chases!
