Last of the rain winding down. Finished up with 0.81" for the day. 0.47" that fell in a very short time early this afternoon, followed by 0.34" of stratiform anvil rain from the dying complex this evening.

Doppler radar estimate are off for your area then - showing 0.75"+ in the last hour!

Keeping my fingers crossed I'll get a quarter inch tonight.

Wow. I've noticed there almost seems to be a bright band effect with these large convective stratiform rain complexes. I wonder if it's from lots of melting hail aloft. There often does seem to be large rain drops falling while it's raining lightly underneath 35+DBZ returns.

Just have to be in the right spot, at the right time evidently. Though too much, too soon can be a bad thing I suppose...

Nothing like getting a month + of rain in one night. Still raining/storming there...wonder what the totals will be up there? And how quickly the grass will green up? I guess I'll see tomorrow when I get up there for Father's Day. Ah, summertime thunderstorms.

It looks like a few micro cells now popping up just west of here.

Looks like they're growing too!

Rain has finally arrived here! Got a strong gust of wind off the rain shield moving in.

Edit: 11:40pm, nice steady rain coming down. Should soak into the soil nicely. :raining:

I got 0.25" with brief severe warned cell this afternoon. I thought maybe tonight would be a good soaking but it looks like I'm on the northern fringe of the decaying strataform bull**** from Illinois. Nice way to totally stabilize the atmosphere while giving absolutely nothing worthwhile in terms of needed rain. Meanwhile, the popups that are going to miss me to the north are soaking the counties that have been more lucky all May and June.

Almost 0.10" in the gauge now. Rain is slow moving, which is a positive. Would have been nice to get into the kind of rain that fell in Milwaukee and Racine County tonight. BowMe got a good amount of water.

Currently 68°/66°.

Come on, share the wealth!

I remember that happened 10 miles to my west last year. June 21st, more than 5 inches of rain in an hour and a half over eastern Ottowa County. The ground floor at one of the residence halls at GVSU got totally flooded. At my place only two thirds an inch fell.

It looks like you're in the poor mans slot too, right between the stabilizing strataform to the south and the popup downpours to the north.

It almost looks like a little deformation band forming over there. Looks like the better rain will be northwest of me again though.

I was just south of the dry slot over Kenosha County, which filled in now. Hoping the heavier showers WSW of here make it in later or something new develops.

You can say that again...Widespread 100's from the 23-26th and probably beyond.

28C+ at 850mb over the Ohio Valley on the 25th.

Incredible...basically from hours 160 and beyond, major heat. Personally I've never seen such a major heatwave. The whole United States is BAKING at hour 190 on tonights Euro./especially the Ohio Valley!

My mighty shield around this airport held strong so far tonight, had a shower form over me, that didn't produce lightning until it was over Canada. Now I have a line that blew up about 30 to 60 miles to my NE through SE that is going bananas with inner cloud lightning right now

If we pull more than a tenth of precip today it will be an accomplishment.

Holy heat for Tuesday and Wednesday. Worthy of a wow!

Lucky me I get to work in it. Good thing I'm in shape and doesn't really bother me but some guys on the crew will be complaining all day.
