Hoar_Frost
Agreed. I prefer a forecast of 95-98 for Monday through Wednesday for ORD. Ridge axis looks like it'll be aligned farther east than optimal, and mixing due to strong winds may be too great. Moreover, the recent overachievements in temperatures would at least be temporarily thwarted by any rainfall received this weekend.
SpartyOn
We can forget any chance of 90*F today. On to Tuesday-Wednesday, where mid-90s are likely. These clouds are a God Damn nightmare for heating potentials. What a shame.

BowMeHunter
I'm so excited about the prospect of the first appreciable rain in nearly 3 weeks that I don't care if it muddles convective potential for later on. Bring on this small batch of rain to the WSW. glad I gave the lawn a good soaking because that's the only appreciable rain it will see or a while. Powerball
Who cares if its 88 or 91. Whats the difference 88*F isn't 90*F+ in the statistics. But for those who don't care about statistics, they also wouldn't notice any difference between an 89*F, 90*F or 91*F. If there's anything I quite frankly don't care about, it's the minor drought we have locally. All it takes is a couple good round of t'storms to wipe that out (like last July), and climo is in our favor of having that wiped out more likely than not. For stats purpose I guess but for outdoor activities it doesn't really matter. Still going to the pool. That minor drought got wiped out Monday night along M-59 Northward. 0.60" here and some areas got 1" of water. I was in Southern Wayne yesterday it's clear that they need rain. hm8
Pool is dead as hell today... Thought that it would be more crowded what with the hot weather. I assume that it's clouded up? SchaumburgStormer
Its sad when this is the best shot we have had for rain in several weeks, and I dont have enough confidence in it to not be running the sprinker. Somehow have managed to keep the grass green-ish... Water bill will be insane though

hawkeye_wx
It seems pretty clear the storms are going to stay well south of my area. Once again, it has come down to hoping a light rain shield north of the storms can hold together and give me enough rain to fill my barrel(~0.15"). cyclone77
Just picked up about a half inch of rain in 10 mins. Bolts hit close enough to knock the power out briefly. Tried to get windy, but nothing more than 35mph. Temp crashed back to 74.
