Marion_NC_WX
I wonder how far inland the threat will be. I was just expecting some rain here. I would think as long as you are North or East of the storm track, tornadoes would be possible. I'm starting to think Beryl may track closer to I-95 instead of going off the South Carolina coast...Anybody Raleigh and east is definitely fair game...how far west of Raleigh? That's still up in the air where the cut-off line would be.
Isopycnic
Just had a passing shower at the house supposedly according to my Davis VP2. Very efficient rain producer with 0.10" in a minute. The shower was barely visible on both krax or RDU TWDR radars.
burrel2
I picked up a quick 1.26 inches here from the spiral band moving through the upstate. We got most of that in just a 30 minute period.

GaWx
She looks to be moving more NNE than NE right now. So, it looks to me like she's tracking a bit west of the projected track for the time being. If that continues, she would stay inland longer through the Carolinas. However, she is projected to turn more ENEward shortly. Let's see if that occurs. Here in Savannah, we just had a quick heavy squall-like feeder band come through from the south. Well, she ended up turning more NE and then ENE this afternoon and evening. So, she pretty much stuck to the NHC track. They did so well with Beryl. Total rainfall had been fairly paltry here in Savannah up until mid afternoon (under 1"). There had been several heavy feeder bands accompanied by gusty winds since Sunday evening, but the accompanying heavy rain fell mainly for just a few minutes each time. However, a nice band of heavy rain (longer lasting) then came through at about 3 PM and then the steadiest rains finally fell this evening just east of Beryl's center with some of it pretty heavy. I'm guessing that at least ~1" fell this evening alone (no rain gauge here).
dsaur
I was up in Atl. today working, and saw far more rain in Buckhead in 15 minutes, than I've seen down here in three weeks. I tied Mayretta here at home for tropical gold mining. .1, with nada today. T

Mencken_Fan
Beryl's open eyewall moved over Cape Fear a little while ago - giving us a spectacular cloud show! From solid black to the west, the long, wide, horizon to horizon cloud bank thinned as one's gaze rotated eastwards to the ocean. Clouds at the edge of this "proto eyewall" were chaotic beyond description. Several rain bands passed through this morning giving us about 3.1 desperately needed inches of rain. There was no thunder. For just a tropical depression, I'm fully satisfied with Beryl. Unfortunately for those immediately up the coast - that "proto eye" closed up after spending some time inland here in New Hanover County. Perhaps Beryl will come back to life with a little "water time" between here and Cape Lookout. Wishing all good luck farther up the coast. Solak
Ended up with .78" today - started shortly after 7:00AM and ended just before 2:00PM. Watching radar off and on, we were stuck in the lighter precip between 'bands' a good part of the morning. As wet a month as it's been, I'm really surprised how fast the water has soaked into the ground in most places.
downeastnc
Got 2" here looks like the heavier totals are just south of here so luckily most of the area is handling the water pretty well. The tornado damage looks pretty bad these appear to be well built waterfront homes.. Brick Tamland
Were there any tornado watches or warnings yesterday on the NC coast? I know it's always a threat with tropical systems, but I don't recall any watches or warnings. Seems they got caught off-guard.
