Geos
A couple of time lapses from yesterday's severe storm. Shot this outside of town. This vimeo version is at 16x speed and is much higher quality than the youtube one. https://vimeo.com/43074807 This youtube version's at 64x speed. Awesome time lapse! cyclone77
Nice time-lapse. Decent shelf cloud as the storm approached. Awesome time lapse! Thanks guys. Wish I wouldn't have repositioned the camera as much as I did, but I was trying to key in on some interesting features at the time. Next time I think I'll just commit to a view and just stick with it. Loaded the archived level II radar data earlier into GR2AE and it showed 83mph winds at 1500ft over Erie. 98mph at 712ft just northeast of Port Byron. That storm definitely had some balls. IWXwx
I figured that I'd keep this thread going for today's threat, then we could start a new one for anything down the road in June. It looks like the same area that got hammered in March could be under the gun again today:

(I am doing a 5 day time lapse next week.)
Hoosier
Have not looked at this setup but just checking current surface obs, there are some pretty large T/Td spreads which would argue against much of a tornado threat if it doesn't change. nrgjeff
Warm front sharpening up in western Kentucky with a good surge of sfc moisture finally arriving in that area. Dews are at 60+ in West KY. Slightly veered winds in Tenn are still backed just south of the Ohio River in KY. Vis imagery confirms the boundary where the winds shift; just a little more CU there. Perhaps something will spin up in western Kentucky. Should not be as crazy as March 2. In fact today is marginal, but worth talking about just in case. cyclone77
How far apart were your shots and what software did you use to compile the video? (I am doing a 5 day time lapse next week.) It was shot on video actually. Just loaded the vid into Windows Movie Maker and edited that way. You can do individual still camera pics the same way. I've done that many times. Vimeo definitely doesn't degrade the quality as much as youtube. I wish I would have loaded the 64x (fastest speed) on Vimeo instead of the 16x speed one. Have to wait a few more days to upload the 64x speed one onto Vimeo as I'm already almost at the MB limit for the week. The youtube version posted above will look much better on vimeo by next week. Hoosier, you were right. SPC overforecasted tornado probs along the Ohio River. It looks like some boring, nonsevere weather for the next few days. I look forward to seeing the next severe thread pop up.
