These storms are pulsers, as quickly as they fire up they die off, pretty cool stuff.

Shear is just a little bit too weak so the updrafts/downdrafts aren't being separated enough...probably just even 10 more knots of shear things would be a little different.

Yeah...watching the sky from my bedroom. I have my computer right in front of the window.

Laptop floating a full two inches in the air.

I'm trying to remember the last time we had a storm through here that actually reached severe criteria. Might have been when I was 12 or 13.

This has "lame as $hit" written all over it

Why I'm outside getting bit by Mosquitos I'll never know

I was hoping I'd see some flashes of lightning when I was walking to the package store and back but nothing.

I find that hard to believe. In May 2010 I had 2 separate severe storms in one night (one severe hail and another severe wind). In June 2009 we had the Wethersfield tornado that produced large hail and wind damage in WeHa.

That's 3 separate severe storms in the last 3 years IMBY. I'm sure there are more both that's all I can remember for now lol.

In 2008 we had quarter-sized hail on August 7th, 2008...don't remember if we had svr in 2007 but in 2006 we had 1'' hail July 18th.

Storms usually get shredded before they hit me. Idk if its from the 1600' mountains to my west or what. I'm obviously embellishing but I feel storms which actually reach svr criteria are very few and far between in my town. Just south of here gets rocked constantly around Thomaston and down the route 8 corridor a little. Weird

Down in West Haven I can recall seeing hail only once, might have been summer of 92' or 93', and that was pea sized. Other than that, diddly squat.

Oh and one time a gustnado went through the center of town all the way to the shore, I didn't see it first hand, I was to far west of it.

Goddamn storms have to always fall apart as they approach me on the water.

If I lived along the coast I'd hang myself.

Yeah seeing a legit severe storm in Branford/Guilford was next to impossible. Up here in metro HFD it seems to be a relatively common occurrence... once a year or so?

No place to live if you have a great interest in svr weather.

I can remember only a handful of severe events...one was in August of 1992', that storm/ storms I recall as a young child were INSANE, another was the end of the tornadic cell in 2010 that ripped through Bridgeport...I was getting off 95 (Exit 41, Marsh Hill Rd in Orange/Milford) driving towards West Haven and damn a driving rain came in and trees bent to the ground, it was a scary 2 minutes I'd have to say. Came home to find my neighbor's tree ripped out of the ground and all the lawn furniture pinned against the fence. Flip on the computer and found the storm was tornado warned. lol

Yeah it's a svr pit like most of the rest of SNE. The CT River Valley north of Middletown through Massachusetts and the adjacent Litchfield Hills/Berkshires are actually a bit of a hot spot around here.
