weatherMA
I think I'll be too far south for anything here besides the lightning that I'm getting now...unless that cell near North Hampton made it here.

dendrite
Looks like the strike took out my soil station. I lost all leaf wetness, soil temp, and soil moisture data beginning at 843p. Damnit.
Typhoon Tip
Line just went through here. Best of it went just to south along Mass Pike. Still had some decent winds (30 MPH) and heavy rain. Most of the lightning was intra cloud. A lot of lightning to my S and SE as the line is strengthening. More lightning going out than coming in. One of the most blazing displays of corpuscular rays I've seen in quite a long while as those crispy edged CBs obscured the sun-set and shot sun beams radially up and outwards. A little darker came on the dusk and lightning can be seen flickering withing the bowls and along the faces of the cloud wall. Occasional overshooting dooms poke up and then collapse into the surrounding anvil dark gray mass. Pretty spectacular vista from back east here in Ayer Mass. I'm kicking my self for not having primed my HD camera for this. Asleep at the while, because for preceding clear air CB's so their edges against the sunset sky could not have been sharper delineated. Capturing 4 hours of these as they've marched steadily E out of NYS from 5 pm onward would have been amazing when later sped up - a hobby of mine. CT Rain
Nice gust front on the ENX radar from the southern cell on the Pike. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be forcing any new cb towers up to the south.

I looked at ALY 00z RAOB. Despite that warm tongue, looks like you would have good mid level lapse rates if you saturated the column near H5. IOW, good CAPE in the -10 to -20C zone...lightning zone. eekuasepinniW
Worst lightning storm I've ever been in. House almost hit by a CG...it knocked out part of my wx station but the power stayed on. We were in the window watching when it hit...the gf is scared ****less right now...lol. It was an awesome night show though...continuous IC CG and CC. I actually have never seen as many CC bolts in a storm here as I did tonight. Nice. I'm jealous. I can just imagine being in your living room with all those big windows watching with the lights off. Several nice CG's and tons of CC here... three of which seemed to involve the entire visible sky and were awesome. Not bad for mid May.

IOW, good CAPE in the -10 to -20C zone...lightning zone. Yeah I noticed that too. That's why we're getting sporadic 1" hail reports too with that decent CAPE in the ice zone.
