ski MRG
You are missing the greatest thinking strategy game ever invented. Think about it. The bases are the same as they were 130 years ago, yet people still get thrown out by inches. The last time I went to a major league game was in San Francisco at Candlestick Park. Padres and Giants. I fell asleep. It was good though because I needed some rest because the rest of the night was a high octane wild time. Holy Sh*t. Gotta be up at 4:20am, later Ginxxx. Can't wait to ski a few runs with you again this Winter. Closer, getting closer.

Ian
If I moved to the hills... I'd probably move to North Canton or New Hartford. Nice towns, good snow, good severe, and things to do nearby. Goshen/Norfolk is out there... beautiful... but rural. Heh, good pt. That area is nice -- and like 20-30 minutes closer to the world. My girlfriend's parents live in New Hartford (when not living in Wellfleet).
ski MRG
You can call this more useless info... lol Some people believe that it takes more courage to ignore stuff than fight it. Yeah, doesn't work well in construction so I guess it just carries over to other parts of my life. I'd be good to have on your side though. Never say die. CT Rain
Bears in West Hartford? See you and Kev do share a common bond. There's a lot around here... much more so than east of the river. They're starting to cross the CT more frequently but for a few years there have been a bunch roaming through this area.
ChrisM
Now that we've talked about it, it kinda sucks being really close to these snow magnets but not in them haha. Goshen is literally a 10 minute drive from me, gets up to about 1400+' about 2 miles from where I work during the summer. From my house I can also see some hills over 1250-1300'+. I still live in a pretty good spot for snow though along with severe. Can't complain.
NECT
I was buying some Sam this evening, and the woman in front of me was making small talk about weathermen always benig wrong and still keeping their jobs. This ought to be a place where we appreciate the fact that mets are right more than they are wrong, and not bust their balls the same as the "general public" when they don't nail a nearly impossible forecast. Maybe that's what gets to some of the red-taggers?

Maybe that's what gets to some of the red-taggers? We never will win with the general public. They only remember the busts and hardly remember the 95% that are correct. Most don't understand probability or truly listen or comprehend a 5 day forecast. I can't tell you how many times where the 5 day shows a big bright sun with one little drop and I hear.."Oh great it's going to rain.." The forecaster obviously meant the risk of a shower. CT Rain
Watch Doppler, our calm Golden we had, old Norman went absolutely nuts when we had a bear about 12 years ago. Yeah he would go insane. ChrisM
yep .. across from the wild animal park. Yep, small world...thats so cool. I work right down the street at West Torrington Park as a counselor for the summer. I always thought that house was cool cause it was in the middle of that HUGE wide open space. The people down the road toward Goshen on the right finally put a bunch of pines in across from the golf course to stop the drifts. They used to be like 15' I remember
Ginx snewx
The women where I work like a very charismatic forecaster on WFSB. Yikes. My favorite older women custodian Rose, god rest her soul, loved Scott Haney. She would argue with me whenever I said rain. She would say well Scott's says... I used to call my staff when we had closures or delays. One closure day I did my best Scott impersonation, lisp included, and said Good morning Rose, this is Scott ,no work today due to snow. She said oh Scott thank you so much for calling me. It was an awesome moment, as soon as I aughed she knew it was me.

I missed a good chunk of the biggest winters while I lived in CT being at school but saw plenty of aftermath etc. Definitely a different world up there sometimes. I was up in that area I guess almost three years ago, but there wasn't much snow around. Not too much had changed.

Ian
Ian your 05 pics were my favorite due to the drifting. I don't even remember 05 being particularly great. The Jan blizzard kinda screwed us. We were under a warning for 3 feet and drifts to 8'-10' or something and ended up getting about 1'.
Logan11
I see I am about four pages behind here so a lot may have transpired in the interim.... But this really seems like an overblown statement. Most of us who actually frequent the NE sub-forum regularly know that most of Pete's schtick has just been in good fun. Same with Kevins... Maybe should be toned down a bit, but really I didn't see any of it as a big deal. Most of us were quite happy before all this nonsense started. Well, it has made for some interesting reading during a very boring time of the year. Interesting seeing all of these mod's from other regions are now experts on the issues in the NE sub-forum. The entire sub forums are 'chocked full of juicy data'. Of course you wouldn't know that because your sole purpose has been to cause strife and constantly stir the pot in an open weather forum over that past 8 months.
