Well, they have a tin ear when it comes to humor. When I rib LL about living in tropical SW CT he understands its nothing more than jocular humor. We joke about it in PM's. People shouldn't get upset that I live in a place that is typically snowy in the Winter and relatively cool in the Summer. I just made a better choice wrt to a place to live. They should see me as an example of what to strive for when it comes to a place to live. OMG, wait until I'm in AK full time. They're really really going to hate me then.lol

A while back, maybe on eastern even, I made a joke about you, basically, because, you're a smarta$$, and many folks who know me believe I am as well. You replied is a pi$$ed off post. Even though I intended only to join the fun, and I had no intention of trying to provoke you, clearly I did, so I apologized for pi$$ing you off.

I learned a long time ago its about reading your posts after you type them.

Will this offend someone? Is this battle worth fighting? Does my argument actually make any sense? Is it an appropriate time and place? Am I adding to the thread or detracting? Am I posting just for the sake of having my voice heard even though I really have nothing to say?

If all the answers to these questions are yes, then people will respect your posts, but only if you do so on a consistent basis. As my OL coach says, "A professional is someone who executes soundly and consistently time in and time out". If you want people to show you respect, you have to post 'professionally'. Thing is, there is a lot of weather professionals who have no time for the BS between regions/people. (If you ask me, I think if you get your panties in a bunch over any forum drama then good riddance.) My point is that there is a decent amount of people that believe the back and forth stuff drives people away. You can't argue against that.

My guess is if you have some type of consistent problem with other people, you drove down the wrong path at some point. I know if you do some self reflection there is a time and place you messed something up. Because I sure as hell have and so has everyone else. There has to come a point in time when you realize the common denominator with posting drama battles is yourself. Maybe something needs to change.

I think if you want the way people treat you to change, you need to make a concious effort to forget any past strife and just focus on being a productive poster from now and into the future. If anyone trolls you or brings up BS from the past, who gives a flying fook. Ignore them and prove them wrong.

Chris I like you, and this is in no way an attack or me being nasty towards you. This is more of a general message I needed to get off my chest.

When did I lie about your sex life? I've never lied about it. What have I said about DBM that was untrue? When I've spoken to Cheetah it's primarily about golf or skiing. I'll determine whether I need to apologize to Bob but thanks for the suggestion. It's funny how you and the others follow me here. Why don't you just let me spar with all of you in OT. Obviously you miss me, I've seen almost as much of all of you in the SNE sub-forum as I ever did in OT. I've repeatedly tried to extend the olive branch but it is all of you that knock it out of my hand. It's funny, as soon as I've taken a conciliatory tone you guys lose interest. You all love the drama. You love having someone to focus your rage and hate on. It's cool, I understand. You have your cycle...you spit venom, try to act like the victim, get a case of "who me?" when called on it, and then, while apologizing, use more backhanded venom. After what you said about me on Eastern, every olive branch you throw at me will be pissed on. There is no room for you at the inn after what you said. You not only burned the bridge, you burned the ashes of the bridge. I'm an easy going forgiving person, so you have to know you're a real 'hole. But let's get back to something that is realistic...you apologizing to Bob for overreacting and taking a huge unwarranted public dump on him. I have no interest in following you around. There is a huge disconnect between how people comprehend your posts and what your actual objective is.

Anyone who understands you well knows you overemphasize some things and keep a persona all in good humor. People take you as deadly serious when they should not.

I trying to do what I feel as a mod is the best course of action for this board, not just this forum. The thread I moved was not the first nor the last that will be moved. A ski thread is sports imo and belongs in that forum. So is golf. The lawn thread also should be moved imo. There is a lot wrong with this forum that many may be oblivious to or personally to care about and we want to make a change in here.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not perfect and I'm not the greatest moderator in many peoples eyes but I'm not going to sit by anymore and do pretty much nothing which is what I have done so far. That has not helped a damn thing.

The issues go beyond you.

Randy, you really don't know me well at all. I don't take orders from people. That's one of the reasons I never joined the military. You have me backed into a corner and like any animal I'm going to come out all teeth and claws. If you can't allow that I may, in fact, be remorseful for some of my words you leave me no ground to stand on. Forgive me but what exactly was it I said about you at Eastern? I thought all of our conflict started here at Amwx. I don't take this as seriously as you evidently as I have no recollection of an altercation going back that far. I'd like to be done with all the fighting but if you can not find any room for peace making then there is little else that can happen but a continuation of hostility. That or you can just assassinate me which seems to be the method of choice. I may well apologize to Bob but I can assure you it will not come at your prompting. Hate away dude. I really don't see what the harm is in having a handful of threads in here that are only tangentially related to weather such as lawn, skiing, etc. They both do have a weather component because both are directly affected by the wx.

Now I don't really see the ski thread as primarily sports because most of the discussion does not focus on the sport aspect of skiing such as techniques, or skiing competitions etc.

I would think that the area that needs moderation the most would be off topic and bad behavior in the true wx threads. What harm is there if some people want to have a ski and lawn thread in here? What it does is it siphons off that kind of talk from the dedicated wx threads. You move them to Off Topic and the result I predict will be more banter about lawns and skiing in the regular wx threads.

Listen Bob, I'm sorry I called you a weasel. You have to understand where I'm coming from. I truly feel that my suspension from OT was totally unwarranted. When you are sitting there with two of my antagonists having breakfast and one of them comes in to taunt me about a thread I've started being moved to OT what would you think? You are well aware that my suspension from OT is still in effect and likely permanent. The long list of prominent posters that object to your unilateral decision should give you reason for pause. If you're going to embark down this path then get rid of all the threads you cite. You can understand that I would feel singled out by your actions,no? I'm hoping that your decision is vetoed, not just with regards to the Ski Season thread but all the region specific threads you say you intend to get rid of. I can tell you judging by the volume of e-mails I've gotten over the last 36 hrs (many of us don't trust the privacy of the PM system here) your position has gone over like a lead balloon. Thank you for sticking up for me when I was asked about. Like all of the SNE posters I've met through the gtgs I enjoyed meeting you as well. It was bad form to post when I was hot and I do apologize. I hope you can see where I'm coming from.

P.S. Do you think that will suffice for Randy? He's really beem bugging me to apologize. Maybe after this he'll like me again.lol

Re-read those parts and see how you're making passive aggressive and sometimes overtly aggressive jabs at folks. You don't need to point these things out in bold, it just rubs people the wrong way. A true apology doesn't have these back handed insults included.

FWIW I hope they keep the lawn and ski and etc. threads in here, it's weather related and like Logan said - it keeps those types of discussions separate from the more focused weather threads.
