Perhaps....

I've only been part of that area since 1980.

What trail u hikin? Some nice views up top. Hopefully not spoiled tomorrow.

lol ... yeah, I know you have an extensive Bridgton history. I think the trail is called Ledges. Starts on Mountain Road a couple miles after Shawnee Peak's base areas. It's my first hike, thought I'd start off with something easy. Hoping the weather cooperates ... eye to the sky and smart phone.

Ledges is nice. Switchbacks in the middle. Nice "ledges" with views of moose pond.

Enjoy.

Alright so it's June 22nd or so, and you're dropping your kid off for the first day of summer camp. It's a nice, cool early morning and the kid is abuzz in the back of the car awaiting their arrival to see friends they may have not seen in a year.

This is the first thing you see when you roll up...their counselor, Wiz.

What do you do?

Introduce them to Pauline their new camp counselor, wish them a happy Summer and make tracks.

He looks harmless and is smart enough to be wearing heavy duty protection from the stinging insects. I'd trust him. (Assuming it's only "day camp") lol

Reason 999 why I would never ride my bike in Boston. I saw some lady get smoked on her bicycle by another car. Boston for the most part is not made for bikers. I think she was ok, but heck of an impact.

I would like to buy a bike and hit the roads, but just can't trust drivers these days with iPods and smart phones and all those other distractions. No shoulders on most roads out here in the sticks.

This woman came right out of a McDonalds parking lot and went right into her. She probably was stuffing her face and didn't look. The funny thing was that I ran to get the two motorcycle cops who were already settling a 3 car accident in which all the accident victims were yelling in Spanish. It was like a scene from the movie falling down.

Back in the day when I did a lot of work in Boston and Cambridge I saw so many near misses. Usually the car is at fault but a lot of cyclists don't follow the rules

Cambridge is the worst. I literally fear driving there because of the bikes. I go there once in a while to eat, but it's nuts there. They squeeze between you in parked cars with maybe 3" to spare. I mean what are you supposed to do? I'm certainly not going to move to the left into oncoming traffic. I actually developed quite a disliking to bicyclists in the city.

Just another day in Scooterland. You gotta get out of there dude. You're about to have kids and that's not a place to raise children.
