wxmanmitch
lol...a long time ago in a land far far away. I stopped working in the field in the early 90s and became a computer programmer/maple syrup producer and didn't have anything to do with weather except keeping my daily record. It wasn't till a few years ago (2005) that I had the time to start getting into things a little more. I think once you're a weather weenie, always a weather weenie. It had something to do with burger kings campaign at the time featuring a guy named Herb. People just started calling us Met Herbs because we were nerdy, geeky types that the rest of the school didn't know much about (I guess). The term I'd like to know the origin of if "weather weenie". The newscasters at a station I interned (ch. 22 in Springfield) at called us that and even went so far as to have "weenie alerts" but I don't know if they started it or used it from someone else. Here's on of the Burger King Commercials for Herb: Ahh...thanks. I was a bit curious about the origins of the term. Not sure if they still use it. Maybe a more recent LSCer could chime in. Cold Miser
LOL, I still will go to them. But, no conference for me this year. Vacation time and money needs to be saved. Daycare will be an easy 12 grand a year. Yup. It's expensive up there. My wife was a daycare director in Needham, and at the time it was about 300.00 per week per kid. When she worked in the Canton center the price was the same but there were a few welfare mom's from the Brockton area who somehow could afford the Luxury SUV, but get their childcare reduced via the state down to about 20.00 per week. Maybe you can pull some shady deal and go that route.

My forever bachelor buddy was visiting from AK and he gave me a look like "WTF were you thinking when you settled down and had kids."lol Yup. As I said to Scooter, marriage is signficant and all that. But, it really doesn't completely throw your life upside down. Once a baby arrives, one is never the same! As a sleep-over update, the girls managed to wake up before 6:30 for the additional loss (ftal). The one upside could be a 'crash and burn' early tonight. Of course, that same thing might apply to Mom and Dad.

It will be interesting to see how Scooter holds up under the relentless assault of fatherhood. HIPPYVALLEY
Well I have some good news today. Looks like there will be a lil' scooter in the homestead come mid December. Pretty excited about it and so far so good as it looks right now. Feeding the baby and watching the 00z Euro come rolling in FTW. Just read this, nice! Congrats. Don't let anyone put worries in your head. Sure life changes things but it's awesome and opens your heart. I waited until my early 40's and it's a blast. There are a few months of adrenal exhaustion but after that you've passed the first big test lol. We opted for me to work part time the first two years so I could be the stay at home daddy so I'll have plenty to say to you next winter. Get a copy of the book and video "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr Harvey Karp and memorize his techniques. Out of all the baby books we read and advice we got I liked his approach the best. The bonus is I get to wow the young moms all the time with my baby skills. ; )

I am not there yet nor that close (I'm 27) but I could see the kid thing in the next 5-8 years... my biggest issue is going to be how to not be able to ski every single day all winter long. Mr Torchey
what a weekend. sorta of a bummer around here lately, all the ****ing drama in the other two threads, seems like things are differnent, perhaps not because the board is, but because people are making it that way. Drama sucks.
