Professional Lurker
A friend of mine had a question, and I was unable to provide him with an answer. Does anybody have any information (or is there a website out there) on rainfall estimates during TS Irene? I know that out here in the sticks there are very few accurate monitoring stations regarding rainfall, so I don't know if the best estimates would be radar-based or not... I am most interested in generating a map. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Flying MXZ
Good place to start here: http://www.erh.noaa.gov/aly/Past/2011/Irene_Aug2011/Aug_28_2011.htm
Professional Lurker
Thanks, that is EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Allenson
BTV put together a post-storm report: http://www.erh.noaa.gov/btv/events/Irene2011/ Also, I put together a map of rainfall totals from Irene for VT & NH as a project here at work. There's a lot of extrapolation but it should be fairly accurate regardless. I used Co-Op and Cocorahs for my data. Also, I need to change "Hurricane" to "Tropical Storm" but I'm sure you get the picture:
