CoastalWx
2 for 2 We might be able to thread the needle like we talked about. Basically get the front far enough south for a nice Sunday and then a decent Monday especially inland. Euro soaker fail today.

powderfreak
I have to say the KFS did a pretty good job this weekend Better than the EUROs 90+ torch and Sonoran heat release. Forest fires in Quebec is the smoke in the air...nice north breeze back home today. BTV with a dew of 42F and RH near 30%... Beautiful Memorial Day weekend weather. I see SLK is now at 74/40 with RH of 29%. Awesome. They hit 40F this morning...maybe 30s tonight?

nzucker
Close to perfect day, other than Rhode Island drivers. Good talent in coastal RI 78F for the high here It was a nice day here, although I had to work part of the day since I was on duty this weekend. Went to SS Lobster in Fitchburg for some really tasty seafood; I had a clam chowder and a grilled Cajun catfish, which came with heaps of fries and cole slaw, all for just $12. Really delicious place especially considering the dearth of good restaurants in the area. Do you know this place?

HoarfrostHubb
Also, try the Old Mill up the road a few miles towards Rte 2 Or try Anthony's in Winchendon. Also good seafood for the area...
nzucker
Yeah, I know it. Good food, gross decor. The market side is very good. Excellent fish Yeah it was a very tacky restaurant with cheap plastic booths and everything served on Styrofoam, but the fish was very fresh. I liked the way everything was prepared, simple but well spiced chowder and grilled catfish. Also, try the Old Mill up the road a few miles towards Rte 2 Or try Anthony's in Winchendon. Also good seafood for the area... I've heard great things about the Old Mill. I also know some friends of mine like The Harbour in Winchendon for fish and chips and drinks. I tried going there the other night but didn't realize it was closed during the beginning of the week. I don't have that much more time to explore, however, as I'm leaving here next Friday permanently to start my teaching fellowship. I have 10 more days of teaching at Hampshire Country School. HoarfrostHubb
We held our wedding reception at the Mill. Did not realize the Harbour was open again. We went a long time ago and then it closed. Of course there is Kimballs up by you. Great lobster roll then awesome ice cream. Good luck in the Bronx, hope you get buried

Good luck in the Bronx, hope you get buried I've gone to Kimballs a few times...really like some of their flavors including the mocha, German chocolate fudge, and chocolate chip cookie dough. I haven't hit the restaurant yet but I'm told it's pretty decent for a dairy bar.

I might be living in Dobbs Ferry until close to the beginning of Winter 2012-13. I'm thinking of moving out of my parents' home into an apartment in the City by Thanksgiving, if not a little earlier. The apartments are really expensive in NYC (although less so in the Bronx), so I'm hoping not to make a move until I have a few paychecks so I don't have to cut into what I saved this year. I'll also be in Dobbs Ferry this summer when I will be doing summer school training and Masters courses at City College in Manhattan. If I can get an apartment near Riverdale or Montefiore Hospital in the northern Bronx, I won't cut into my snowfall average too much from Westchester standards. Another warm night here in NH...AFN is at 75/57 after reaching a high of 84F today, more like late July than late May. With clouds moving in tonight, I don't see us getting much below the upper 50s even here on the rural campus of Hampshire Country School. Definitely expecting more rain Monday and Tuesday. Either way the normal low is 48 Yeah BTV just doesn't radiate well as the north/south Champlain Valley tends to lead to channeling and pesky breezes stay around all night. All the mountain valley sites in the interior were in the 40s and calm.

Socks--I didn't realize you were leaving NH. What are you going to be doing? As far as the Bronx goes, I went to Fordham and there for about 6 years. It truly is GC--er, maybe not. Riverdale is a great area. Also, check out Woodlawn. I was there for a few years--great spot. You've got the "Irish Mile" on Katonah Ave. Pubs galore. You might show up at the next GT with a brogue, though. Looks like we had an 80's fail at the Pit over the weekend, ftw. Topped out at 76.2 yesterday. Looks like we're sub-80 for the duration of the current forecast. Typical summer. Hoping for some good storm action over the next 24-36 hours. Nice to see all those cool high temps coming later in the week. 60's are perfectly acceptable high temps. The days are flying by and before very long the days will be getting shorter. Should see some good boomers overnight.
