Coming back from soccer 10 mins ago..I'm driving up the hill and I hear a big thud and feel the car jolt..I was like WTF was that..Look in my rearview..and 3 deer are bolting across the rd..One of them clipped the back bumper of my car..It was wet,,so i can't tell if there was any damage in the fading light..but it's a miracle nothing worse happened. I never even saw them.. 1 second earlier and it would have run right into my driver side door or head on. Overgrown rats

Holy crap.

Nah I 'm not into hunting..Not my thing..Just munks.

I still can't get over how close that was.To just hit my back bumper running at full speed like they were..Nothing but luck it wasn't worse..with kids in the car.

You were lucky, had a big ole buck jump clear across the hood of my truck in backcountry Greenwich last summer, they will **** up your day in a ny minute.

It almost seems impossible for it to happen like it did..To just clip the back bumper..And it looks like there isn;t even a dent..but I need daylight and dry car to tell..There's got to be some scuffs or something. Crazy how a split second made all the difference .Literally

Downsloped on easterly flow while E.CT up through ORH hills and all of eastern MA rained all afternoon. Second maximum east slope of the Berks. Just like a winter snow on east flow ;)

Estimated daily rainfall at the ASOS...

ORH...0.7"

FIT...0.5"

BOS...0.5"

LWM...0.5"

Widespread 0.4-0.8" so far outside of Death Valley where the CT River is.

Yup.

.1" FTL. If it wasn't for the beautiful women and delicious food this place would really suck.

Venison burgers and steaks. You hit it, you eat it

I hit one in Stowe a couple years ago... broke its hind legs and had no damage to my car, but the thing was still alive and wandering around the road. Called the police and the Game Warden came out, executed it i(more like blew its head apart) with two shots of his Glock, and then asked me if I wanted to take it home, lol.

"You want it?"

"Uhhh, I'm not sure."

"Its yours if you want it."

"Well, I'm not really prepared to throw a bleeding deer in the back of my car."

lol....that could be messy. A guy I know has one of the few state issued permits for road kill. But if you hit it, it is yours otherwise.

The Wolf Guy (Ginx knows him) gets some of his deer meat from police, etc who respond to hits. The wolves love 'em

Yeah I mean, I'd love to have all that venison, but how many folks travel around prepared to throw a bloody animal in their backseat at a moments notice? Unless you have a pick-up truck, you probably aren't bringing your roadkill home. "Hang on sir, let me just put the backseat of my SUV down...will all the bodily fluids leaking out of him stain my seats?"

seasonably warm? 80 is normal in gods country at 1350k.............hmmmm here we go folks, spin, spin, spin away!!!

You and the other torch twin aren't fooling anybody. There is no heat wave, there is no drought, there will not be forest fires destroying peoples' homes by the thousands nor is the sky falling. Just run of the mill mid/late spring weather. A few showers, a few warm days, totally unremarkable. The two of you could be headline writers for the World Weekly News or the National Enquirer..... have a day in mind yet for a golf outing?

Wait, don't all guys drive pick-ups? I don't know any guys that drive a car. That would be totally ridiculous.

I think you have me mistaken for somebody else.....fire's? We were in a drought, obviously that has largely been wiped out. I just commented on your "normal memorial day warmth", is 80 your normal high this time of year, I really don't have any idea:)

Golf, yes, 2nd week of June seems like a good time!

Wait, I thought this was the banter thread, sorry. I'll talk to Cheetah.

LOL... I prefer the SUV. I keep my back seats down all season and can absolutely fill that thing with gear (all kept dry)... 3-4 pairs of skis, many poles, 5-foot snow-water equivalent tubes, several jackets, helmets, etc and can comfortably sleep back there in a sleeping bag, despite being 6'3", if I go on a road trip.

opps... we're in the wrong thread.

But we are probably on-topic because we aren't talking about temperatures for an hour on end. Temperature talk is certainly off-topic and reportable on a weather board.

I don't think I could have planned much better timing with my over-seeding on Sunday. The .5" of rain since then along with the additional inch in the coming week (at least according to the GFS, though BOX is siding with the EC) spells out a beauty of a time for grass to grow. No hot dry summer yet.

Hoping for some storms to make things interesting--seems like that low chance is always there these days. Need some triggers.

Tuesday is a torch and then we go back and forth with hot days and fropas with frequent storms..It looks active humid then dry rinse repeat..then retorch around June 10

I said prolonged torch. Tuesday is questionable with a front nearby. Clouds and fropa FTL? Then I see more seasonable wx with rain chances. Not impressed with June torch temps, although it could be above normal.

Nice sunny, muggy morning..torchy and summery..Hopefully some storms today

We've got the sun working on the mist here. Blue sky overhead, but low fog/mist to the east impeding things a bit--sure it will be short-lived. With the forecasted hights in the lower 70's, I'd be little reluctant to describe it as torchy.
