tamarack
Was was the wx before the 1995 derecho like? I do remember the front coming through and having the windows wide open. Very scary in a way Can't believe someone reported the temp talk...lame Only derecho I've experienced was July 1999, one that began in northern MN early on the 4th and finally petered out on the 5th in eastern Maine. It went thru MBY about 5 AM on 7/5, with brief shower and a few gusts near 50, but the real action was Rangeley-Jackman, where straight line gusts 80+ flattened lots of trees and caused some injuries. It was humid before the derecho passed by, and even more humid (dews low-mid 70s) after. And Kevin, tell us how you REALLY feel. (Not that I disagree...) weatherwiz
Saturday does look a tad interesting across portions of central NY going into central New England, especially if enough instability can develop. While shear right now doesn't look like anything to write home about there is some decent directional shear with winds going from S/SW to more NW aloft. Looks like a fairly steep lapse rate environment as well.
N. OF PIKE
It's not a bit much..It's a WEATHER FORUM.. We were discussing WEATHER. . There is NOTHING else to discuss and we were talking about a cold front and temperatures on a WEATHER FORUM. There was about 5 or 6 posts between Scooter and I...all discussing WEATHER. x 10,
CT Rain
Saturday does look a tad interesting across portions of central NY going into central New England, especially if enough instability can develop. While shear right now doesn't look like anything to write home about there is some decent directional shear with winds going from S/SW to more NW aloft. Brian5671
Models are horrible with this rain. parts of NJ have had over an inch and most models had .25 at best...wonder what that spells for us later.
powderfreak
It just blows..They've succeeded in driving away Will, Phil, and now apparently Scooter. Were Will and Phil actually driven away? Or do they just have better things to do than talk about temperatures all day? I'm sure this will be business as usual come winter, if it actually starts to snow in SNE. weatherwiz
Yeah GFS isn't terrible. Would like to see flow in the lower troposphere a bit stronger and instability a bit higher. Low-level shear is pretty weak, although there is a belt of stronger winds but they will be offshore by 18z or so. Some of the areas though look to be in a good spot with respect to the upper level jet with a decent area of divergence as well which could help compensate some. We'll see if models trend any stronger with instability with time.

CT Rain
Models are horrible with this rain. Didn't the KFS have <0.1" for this 72 hour period? Models are just a mess but things right now are progressing as you and I figured.

Ginx snewx
It's not a bit much..It's a WEATHER FORUM.. We were discussing WEATHER. Just because some sally, no balls ,living in their mother's basement.poster sent in an unfounded report about 2 of the boards best members discussing WEATHER...doesn't mean you have to address it # 1 at and #2 certainly not publicly. There is NOTHING else to discuss and we were talking about a cold front and temperatures on a WEATHER FORUM. There was about 5 or 6 posts between Scooter and I...all discussing WEATHER. It's a shame some little timid pansy can't address us himself. And if he he doesn't want to discuss WEATHER on a WEATHER forum..perhaps he should find something else to do other than sending in complaints about 2 people discussing WEATHER on a WEATHER forum. Pansy g. All I read was weather discussion. Whiny bitc hes. Getting muggy but cool. Fish will be biting, have a great day, you too bitc hes. ctsnowstorm628
12z GFS tries to BD us Sunday but then the high moves northeast just in time for another round of what looks like some serious heat with 1000-500mb thicknesses surpassing 570dm to the Canadian border. Wow. Verbatim next Monday 5/28 looks like 90s inland with a front lingering in southern QC.
