WXheights
The graphics illustrate an inherent problem with how society receives information, reacts to, and also explains lack of leadership. dabize
Where do the left think tanks sit??? I can't see the representation for them.... no need. Unlike the right wing ones (e.g. Heartland), the "left think tanks" (are there any left?) do not fund misinformation and defamation campaigns
WeatherRusty
Where do the left think tanks sit??? I can't see the representation for them.... There exists a dichotomy, or two vastly different views. There is the ideologically, politically driven stance on global warming. This stance is perpetuated by the right wing think tanks. On the other hand, there is mainstream science which is under attack from the other side. Any "leftist" think tanks align themselves with the science, they are not active in the production of the science they support like the opposition is. For the sake of scientific integrity and the value of scientific information, the "left" stands in support of the science and is willing to engage the "right" in the war of words just as it has had to do for centuries. The ideological battle pitting rationality and science against ignorance and theology persists to this day. Remove the religious zealots from the conservative Republican base and what do they have remaining for support?
