Basically, the best place to view one of these is over a lake, at maximum eclipse, just before sunset. So, some lake in West Texas is likely going to have some incredible pics. frostfern Posted May 24, 2012 Share Posted May 24, 2012 I got a brief peak at it through a thin rain curtain out over Lake Michigan. The disk was really blurry from the rain though so you could just barely make it out. Maybe a polarizing filter would have made it more clear but it was starting to pour and the camera was getting wet so I gave up.
