BeauDodson
Took this photo of a severe thunderstorm to my southwest - looking from IL into Kentucky. The storm produced ping pong size hail. stormitecture
Def. some distance from you...having that orangey glow. Reminds me of my first storm I photographed the first year I chased. It was near Clayton Lake SP in NM (for ne corner of the state) way back in 1997. Now imagine a huge bolt coming way out of that thunderhead and while not exactly close, a lot closer than you thought a CG could go. Fun for a first timer. These are good shots. Hard to imagine those CGs ready all the way up into the top of that storm and the part below the base is only about 20% or less of the total length.
