Disc
Circulation has tightened up and is sitting right on Whitsett, TX this scan with a report of a small rope tornado on the ground for a about a minute.
SouthernNJ
Corpus Christi about to perhaps take a hit from a supercell. Not sure if it will produce a tornado, but large hail is likely. We'll see how close the circulation will get to town, looks like it will travel SE of the area.

Buckeye05
Major flashback here. In 2007, a supecell following that same path produced an F4 in Piedras Negras Mexico killing 4, and then crossed the border and produced an EF3 that killed 7 in Eagle Pass, TX. I still distinctly remember watching the Eagle Pass cell. Pretty crazy night.
baroclinic_instability
I agree with Timmer actually...going to be a good environment...and that was actually the region I envisioned earlier when I talked about stuff clearing out. Well it cleared out...and the low level SRH should ramp up significantly later this afternoon/early evening as the PV ejects and the surface low tightens. baroclinic_instability
That southern most cell in MX will be the best shot it seems...entering a cleared area and will possibly interact with that outflow boundary to its N across west TX.

baroclinic_instability
taking a right turn.. could stay in mexico for a while Yeah it definitely is. The stuff to the south initiating along the complex terrain will also need to be watched. All this stuff will be entering a favorable environment for long lasting discrete supercells. baroclinic_instability
This PV is absoutely gorgeous on satellite. Great example that 500 height/vort progs alone can be very deceiving as this looks like junk at that level.

SouthernNJ
One of the Mexico supercells threw off a right-split, and it strengthened quickly. Another one formed to its south, but is moving NNE. They appear to be on a collision course as they approach the border somewhere between Eagle Pass and Laredo.

We are currently on 277 driving east from Eagle Pass. Not clear to me how the 2 cells will interact when they collide, but we shall see...
