You must have had a bad experience with alcohol. Did you pass out in a glen and wake up to kids pissing on your hair?

My roommate in college was a professional drinker. Our senior year we got an off campus apartment. He and I did lots of trout and salmon fishing. At the end of the school year we had to vacate the apartment. We had a freezer full of fish. What better way to get rid off them than to have a huge party/fish fry? We got permission from the landlord to throw a big party with our band set up in the backyard. The morning of the party Eric showed up with several bottles of "Rebel Yell", a sourmash whiskey. He was happy to tell me that Confederate soldiers used to drink it before battle (probably one of the reasons they lost) and that it was Keith Richards favorite. I started drinking early and often. A shot with each guest that arrived, a shot after each song we played. At about 9pm I sat down with a big plate of trout. All of the sudden I didn't feel so good. I somehow made it to the only bathroom we had on the second floor. I spent an undetermined length of time worshipping at the white altar. I was just trying to decide if I wanted to die by drowning in the toilet or by falling back onto the floor and drowning in my own vomit. I don't remember much other than Eric pounding on the door yelling "C'mon Pete !!! The girls need to use the bathroom!" Finally, my bandmates kicked the door in and dragged me to my room where they unceremoniously dumped me on my bed. I spent hours and hours on the most terrifying magic matress ride I've ever been on. I've never been drunk again and I still don't eat trout or salmon.

LOL, what a disaster. That must have been traumatizing to not really drink again. Getting drunk isn't as fun anymore when you have to be productive the next day, but nothing wrong with a nice buzz. It's refreshing to wake up and feel good....10 yrs ago I could have cared less. Funny how that changes.

Yes, it really was. I vowed to only use safe drugs like LSD.

You can't stain over mildew. You should just get a pressure washer and clean the deck once in a while. Staining the deck every year is abnormal.

Kevin is a little bit abnormal. Just one of the many reasons that he is the king of the weenies.

Dude..I'm not staining over mildew. I power wash it every year before I stain it. This year I bought some deck cleaner and a scrubbrush with a handle and cleaned it that way last weekend..All the grime and crap is off..You could eat off of it right now if you wanted. Staining about to commence

What kind of wood is the deck? Treated yellow pine? Solid body stain? Wear a respirator.

My wedding is mem day weekend so I like the early reports that it's looking zonal, I hope and pray that it stays dry with an offshore flow. Our reception is at the new england aquarium so literally right on the water. Any onshore winds would be :axe: .

I still need to get gifts for all the groomsmen... looking for some good ideas. None of us are real big drinkers otherwise I'd get a flask or something like that. Anyone ever got/given some good groomsmen gifts?

She is just starting to use it...

I went to Via a few years ago. I went with a friend and we just got pizzas, but it was very good. ORH is becoming the culinary hot spot.

I gave my groomsmen a watch for each. I figured it would be different and a nice touch.

This stuff is awesome for desert "MichelanGelato" Sampler A palette of mini cones made from our house made Italian gelati and sorbetti. You choose...all one flavor or mix it up and try different flavors. 5 Cone Sampler - $6, 10 Cone Sampler - $10
