Sundog
Holy moly ... 96 on Monday at EWR? Didn't you say the NAM showed 91 for today in the city? Only topped out at 84. The NAM has been a little too excited with the heat.

Hence the laughing smiley -- it was a little too ambitious with temperatures today. That's not to say it will be too warm the rest of the weekend and beyond..we'll have to watch each day on an individual basis. The NAM has been pretty good so far this spring. If we had 2 more hours of sunshine it would have been darn close - maybe not for the park but other areas...
doncat
hit a high of 80°F here. Upton was calling for a high of 86°F earlier. Did hit 86 at my station in Travis.

Are they showing the ridge building back east again like the ops The ensemble mean is a little slower lifting the trough out than the OP.

ag3
Euro clearly handled this weekend much better then the NAM. It was 3-4 degrees too cold for yesterday but it nailed Fridays misty and foggy day, yesterday's foggy and misty morning, then a little sun and then full clouds and it nailed today's cloudy and rainy start. It had he rain this morning followed by partly cloudy the rest of the day.

Had a BBQ yesterday and had ppl constantly calling me asking me if the BBQ was still on. All they kept saying was how bad the rain was near the TZ on the thruway.. Cfa
I'm glad I'm missing the rain. At 8-9:00-ish, both JFK & Williamsburg, VA were at 70...now JFK is at 66 with rain and Williamsburg is at 81 with sunshine. I hope this rainy pattern changes. The weather here is so nice. It got up to 90 yesterday. I wouldn't mind if the city started planting Windmill & Needle palms either.

I was further north and while the showers passed to the east and west it was cloudy for the second half of the afternoon into the evening. This was fine by me cause the sun only made it more miserable with the humidity.

snywx
Being further west must have helped, I was over near the Hudson at a party. That storm that went through Newburgh went severe.. The only storm that came close enough to hear thunder was the one that formed over extreme NW NJ..

Analog96
As it should. This front will be moving back into a juicy airmass. Warm fronts are notorious in producing heavy rain here. There is already some convection popping in NE PA, NW of the old line, probably headed this way.

Analog96
The island could get in on it, but you'll probably get leftover stuff later on. I don't know why, but I can't quote and reply.

Analog96
Warm fronts are tricky. They have a strong tendency to produce more rain than progged. I would watch out anywhere in the Tri-state. Just keep an eye to the sky and the radar.
