BlizzardWarning
Seriously doubt strong thunderstorms develop east of route 17. Clouds have rolled into Northeast New Jersey and radar indicates that debris has pushed through the NYC metropolitan area, thus limiting potential energy needed for strong thunderstorms lacking significant trigger. Do think some showery thunderstorms are possible, but nothing like the Boomers in Northwest New Jersey.

bluewave
DISCUSSION...COLD FRONT WILL MAKE SLOW PROGRESS SEWD INTO A WARM AND STRONGLY UNSTABLE AIRMASS SITUATED FROM CNTRL AND ERN PA EAST ACROSS THE NYC METROPOLITAN AREA. WHILE DEEP SHEAR IS WEAK AND SUGGESTS POOR STORM ORGANIZATION...RADAR AND SATELLITE DATA INDICATE THAT STORMS ARE QUITE ROBUST WITH ANVILS STREAMING WELL SOUTHEAST THE HIGHER STORMS/STRONGER CELLS. MOST STORMS APPEAR TO COLLAPSE WITHIN 30-40 MINUTES OF INITIATION AND EXPECT THAT THIS PULSE AND MULTICELLULAR ACTIVITY WILL CONTINUE TO POSE A THREAT OF HAIL AND HIGH WINDS...AS WELL AS FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AS IT DEVELOPS SEWD ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON. I doubt the storms are going to deliver on long island but still a gorgeous day for all you gotta admit I think that most of Nassau should get in on the action, places like Suffolk will not see that much. NW Nassau county will do the best for the island. Hopefully they can get the Mets game in before any storms delay it.
