It's super pouring in SE Queens. I don't think I've ever seen a downpour of this intensity have rain fall straight down at a 90 degree angle, it looks fake.

This one got you further east while sparing us mostly we picked up an inch and a half in all these tropical rain showers today.

As droughts go, I never really considered this a 'true drought'.

Agreed, especially considering how wet it was aug - oct (a few seasons worth of rain). Its also follows recent trends of dry period followed by a quick catch up and then some. SO far this hasnt been the excessive deluges we have seen.

weekend forecasts look okay but trying to pinpoint it down...will Sunday or Monday be the better beach day...hearing different forecasts on this or is it too early to tell yet?

I'd say saturday may be the best (least wet most potential sun) day of the weekend. Dont think either sun or mon are washouts but clouds could spoil a beach day. The thing is you just dont know - like today parts of the jersey shore were mostly sunny for a good portion of the day.

The western end of the early afternoon NYC storms produced heavy rain and some thunder here, although nothing came out of the evening round. Hopefully Tuesday and/or Wednesday's storm potential verifies with widespread activity, the last few days have been active but the storms were mostly localized.

..we have been stuck in low clouds and fog ALL week here on the east end..

with the unofficial start of our season this w/e..I see this crap ruining the w/e out here..

* beach days..not happening

* Jones Beach air show will be cancelled due to low ceilings

* can't even cut the lawn..its been to darn WET(its about a foot tall !!)

and yet the weather people i'm listening to are saying, NOT the

gloom and doom like me..maybe the are in 'kahutz' with the chamber of

commerce to get people out here..they better bring there rain gear

and NOT their bathing suits.

I have been at the air show every day they have ever had it and it is extremely rare for them to cancel the whole show. (yes the smaller trick planes cant fly in low ceilings) But the blue Angles certainly can in fact the practiced yesterday morning in awful conditions.
