psv88 Posted May 24, 2012 Share Posted May 24, 2012 That was my experience living on Long Island where a good majority the city and even western LI get slammed then weakening rapidly when moving into Suffolk then gets screwed with boring light rain rain showers. I just hate that. July and August are better for Long Island when the water temps warmed up and less marine layer is in control. Glad I live in Brooklyn now. You're right. Storms really fall apart in central nassau and by the time they hit eastern nassau they are totally falling apart. I even see a difference from when i lived in fresh meadows queens to western nassau. I love 79 and 66 dewpoint weather........w/ little or no sun.. UGH! Really hoping something changes so that we can at least have a day or two of nice sunny skies!! As of 1pm NYC has .60" of rain while only a few miles east, LGA only has .19" I'll update the rain totals during the next update in a few minutes. Looks like its trying to advance north now on the latest satellite images. Rain shield also looks to finally be lifting north as its been stuck over NYC for hours.
