That was my experience living on Long Island where a good majority the city and even western LI get slammed then weakening rapidly when moving into Suffolk then gets screwed with boring light rain rain showers. I just hate that. July and August are better for Long Island when the water temps warmed up and less marine layer is in control. Glad I live in Brooklyn now.

You're right. Storms really fall apart in central nassau and by the time they hit eastern nassau they are totally falling apart. I even see a difference from when i lived in fresh meadows queens to western nassau.

Suffolk can get some nasty storms if they drift down from CT though

This weekend overall is beginning to look pretty lousy... Lots of storms around - mostly cloudy conditions w/ warm and humid conditions.. I love 79 and 66 dewpoint weather........w/ little or no sun..

UGH!

Really hoping something changes so that we can at least have a day or two of nice sunny skies!!

Cell over Brooklyn is extending eastward, might get all of Queens too.

Eh I'm pretty sure my house will stay dry with this one. But it did pop east a bit with the last radar shot. I'd say the rain stays west of the Van Wyck with this one.

Sun poking out in C-NJ. Hopefully it can continue to edge north.. Looks like we could be dealing with these clouds most of the next few days.

Looks like its trying to advance north now on the latest satellite images.

Rain shield also looks to finally be lifting north as its been stuck over NYC for hours.
