Pretty much all models mishandled the rain this morning.

NAM, GFS and Euro all had less then .25" of rain total. Euro had the heavy band over Jersey but not into the city and its boroughs.

Yup but of course as some people here would have made you believe a couple days ago, a heat wave for late week was a lock. The models couldn't get something within a day or two correct but they are spot on in the longer range if they show a heat ridge.

it's tough for the models to pinpoint convection down to the mile even 6 hrs out but the 4 km 6z NAM did a great

job with the idea that a band would produce heavy rains near the region. The storms just extended further

north.

I'd say later-after 12 or so--upton says everyone gets into the action at some point as lift increases as the day goes on

how many times have i heard that lol. it seems like the past few years almost everything has found a way to go around me or weaken signifigantly. i really hope i do get into the action though, love me some thunder and lightning

About an inch here so far fro the morning batch. What looks like round 2 is looming offshore for this afernoon. So glad this held off till we got another stellar weekend in and we get it out of the way for a very summery memorial day weekend. Some pokes of sun to my north.

depends on where the front sets up this weekend. Latest GFS runs have been showing an MCS moving thru Saturday night.

Getting doused here in central Nassau, occasional thunder.

I live in western nassau, just south of roslyn, and it was pouring when i left for work in jericho, central nassau, it is still pouring and has been all morning in western nassau in albertson, but it has barely rained here in jericho, 5 mile difference...what a difference! Just goes to show how the weather pattern between western and central nassau is so different, in both winter and summer, pretty remarkable.

Yep, Great Neck got soaked so I checked my weather station at my parent's house in Muttontown & they only had .02 fall. Now they have .15 but it pales in comparison to what fell further West in Nassau County.
