I never doubted storms would fire in the mountains, even pulse to severe levels, but I find I doubt the will make it east of a Frederick / Leesburg / Mason-Dixon Line.

This area can surprise. All i can say is wait and see.

Really haven't been paying much attention to it.....are we supposed to get any of the affects from the remains of Beryl? Looks like its just spinning away in south central Georgia right now with little to no movement, but showers are reaching as far north as extreme SE VA.

As for tonight....looking forward to some post dinner storms.

TO STRENGTHEN SOME /NOW 30 KTS PER PROFILER DATA/ IN ADVANCE OF THE  

UPPER TROUGH...AND MAY SUPPORT SEMI-ORGANIZED CELLS AND SMALL BOWING  segments

western Frederick County in north central Maryland...

Washington County in north central Maryland...

northeastern Morgan County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

northern Jefferson County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

eastern Berkeley County in the Panhandle of West Virginia...

* until 745 PM EDT

* at 541 PM EDT... the public reported flash flooding as a result

of thunderstorms along a line from 8 miles east of Sleepy Creek to

Williamsport to Shepherdstown... moving northeast at 25 mph.

* Some locations that will continue to be affected by the heavy rain

include Martinsburg... Shepherdstown... ballenger creek...

Boonsboro... Braddock Heights... Emmitsburg... Frederick...

Hagerstown... Long Meadow... Thurmont... Walkersville...

Williamsport... Wolfsville and Sleepy Creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
