Wonder if those nasty storms in PA reach suth of the M/D line... pretty heavy duty up there. Probably won't, but would be nice

They sure look like they're aimed for me, but as you say its questionable they maintain.

The breeze has really come up from earlier, and the barometer has plunged here. 84 now after a high of 88.

Storms less than 50 miles now to my NW, and holding together nicely. SWS out.

gorgeous shelf cloud came over, half the street in shadow and half in white light, and streetlights coming on in the dark half. mammatus clouds, as wvclimo noted.

a giant sky with swirling scud twirling down and then back up, with the sharp edge of the shelf cloud as a counterpoint to all of the swirls underneath it. just beautiful.

We were sitting on the back porch watching that shelf to our south. Two or three times we saw the clouds twirling down as you describe, like they might keep dropping, then lifting back up. Still pouring here. Probably put me over 6" for May.

I think my first photo may show that shelf in between the dead tree in my back yard.

Yes, your photo looked exactly like what it looked like here as the storm approached. The backside, as it moved into clear air south of me near Trixie, was when I wondered if a funnel might form. No veering winds, I guess.

Nice pics, Dave.

I'm at 0.63" from the initial line. Interestingly, getting some more lightning to my NW, so I guess there's some redevelopment.

6.11" for May. I must be leading all of the Mid-Atlantic with that total.

Thanks Craig. Yeah radar looked a lot worse than it was. Barely a tenth of an inch here. Winds were the big thing.

Looks like some better storms south of cumberland traveling down Md 51 towards Oldtown and Paw Paw

Damn you are doing well for May. I have to check out what we have here but I know it is nothing near 6" MTD

Well had to head out to the back yard to bucket out a small pond. We had a deck put in and the grass is non existent, But because of a gutter issue that the builder has not fixed yet we were standing in 2" of water. Email has been sent off again for the overflowing gutter and sod will be put in tomorrow by myself and the husband.

LWX says another round for us in a few hours, and I can see them on the radar. I wonder if they will really make it.

I'm still getting rain, and its 65 degrees. Have to think we've been worked over by now. But that line from Pittsburgh to Altoona looks like its firing up pretty nicely.
