Mrs.J
Storms out of NW are never good for Frederick proper. Carroll County and East to Baltimore usually do better when they reform. Not sure how DC and SE do with these types of setup. Actually I think this one might hold by the looks of it. Woken up by the lightning and it looks to be moving slow. WVclimo
Last night, the local airports scored and I was mostly fringed. 1.56" at HGR and 0.91" at MRB, but only 0.28" here, between the two.
marked8
I did not realize that I had lost a large Apple tree in the back yard to the storms until I got home yesterday afternoon.

Purcellville was hammered and we got not much here but a rumble of thunder some flashes and a little more than third of an inch Actually Tradewinds was right. I thought the storm would hold but it looked to split to the East, the worst part anyways. We did get lightning and a few rumbles then a downpour for about 5 min though. mattie g
Got woken up by the dog barking at thunder at around 2:00 am or so. Looked at the radar on my phone, and we looked to have just been clipped by a decent cell. I could hear the rain and wind as I drifted back off to sleep - sounded like a pretty good hit. Took the dog out this morning. Squishy.

TradeWinds
Actually Tradewinds was right. I thought the storm would hold but it looked to split to the East, the worst part anyways. We did get lightning and a few rumbles then a downpour for about 5 min though. I registered 0.18" in my gauge compared to Hagerstown's 1.5" just 22 miles away. If today's storms are formed by the higher terrain, we'll get light amounts again. Still better than nothing. With ample rain and heat, my yard and plants are already like a jungle. TradeWinds
The Germantown/Gaithersburg area seems to be getting pounded. Sun is gone now in Ballenger Creek and lots of dark clouds to my South with even a couple rumbles of thunder. Radar pretty benign around here and no rain yet. Hagerstown looks to get it again soon. They've been hit hard with rain for a few days now I believe.

Bob Chill
I can hear thunder in Arlington but it looks like its from the cell heading out of NW DC heading NW. How often do cells move NW anyway? Weird.

Mrs.J
The stuff to the South looks to be dissipating on the Frederick Co. line, then to re-form just north of 70. That seems about right...
