Chicago Storm

Recommended Posts

Made it to 86*F at Metro and 87*F at City. A thermometer I saw read 91*F. It wouldn't surprise me if areas between the airports and away from the waters made it to 90*F.

That said, NAM is warmer for Tuesday, now showing lower 70s.

Also, we should make it 80*F+ again tomorrow before the front/any convection comes through.

Traverse City had a high of 93 with a low of 70 today. That's incredible for May, let alone any other time of the year. The caveat is that the 70 might not hold through 1 am to make it official.

Looks like 93/69 in Traverse City yesterday...normal is 67/43.

A +26 departure in late May is amazing.

Will be heading up to Door County later this week into Saturday. Right now the weather looks like your typical comfortable late May fare. Boy, May has to be my favorite time of the year weatherwise. Potential for thunderstorms ramps up, yet there are plentiful comfortable spring days as well, and less allergies for me at least than September and early October.

Will be interesting to see how warm we get this weekend. I think mid 90's are possible at least one day between Sat-Mon but I'd go with a bit more conservative low 90's for now. My sister is going to the Indy 500...gonna be roasting.

I am shooting from the inside of turn three and we need to be there a minimum of 90 minutes before the race begins. It will not be fun.

Stay hydrated Jim. As you know, IMS is a veritable oven with the crowds, asphalt, heat, and humidity. With a forecast of low to mid 90's, it's really gonna be cookin'.

Late spring Fail. That sucks.

That's a pretty typical story here in the late spring! Hot for one day, cool for next couple days.

Allergy levels were a lot less today, I can tell!

Nice that these warmups haven't brought really humid air with them, so far...

As the recent model runs show, they're struggling heavily with this highly amplified pattern devloping. Now the GFS is centering a 594dm ridge over the Ohio Vally again, where as yestrday it was centering a weaker ridge much further south, with the front stalling further south.

Needless to say, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the extreme heat they were showing before returns in subsequent runs,
